Why going to a French restaurant in Budapest? The chef is very nice but the restaurant is not so great without any ambiance. Sziv street is a small street even long but nothing fency around except the Andrassy boulevard.

Hidden in a side-street to Andrassy this very small and cosy French restaurant offers solid and really tasty food. Just brought friends there who said it was like being invited into someones kitchen. Can you get a better recommendation? Don't miss the chocolate mousse!

Nearly didn't go because of some of the reviews here. So glad I ignored them. Went with a few friends mid week. The staff were friendly, attentive and entertaining. The food was fabulous & the price fair.

French kitchen. Friendly environment. Good meals. Good beers and wine. Was good taking everything into consideration. I saw some bad feedback but we did not have those experience so if you like French cousine i can recommend.

In a side-street in downtown Pest, looks very romantic.Menu is short, /trendy/ food is good. Service is attentive, no wonder, on a weeknight have only 2 tables occupied. Payment was a bit of problem, could not process the international card. Price would be equivalent to a Michelin star restaurant, which they don't have. Would we go again? Not, if we... More

Most awful choice you can make. The service is terrible and the owner was constantly arguing with his wife and completely ignoring his guests. Moreover, the food was overpriced and not worth the long wait. Don't go to this place!!!!

In the last years this was my favourite french restaurant in Budapest. But. There is always a but. They made the same mistake as many others as well. Probably they are tired, or I don't know. The food is boring, the perspnal is chaotic, so csn't recommend it. Sorry.

My experience was not good at all at this restaurant. Poor restaurant design, very poor service, average - ok food, and above all bad bad atmosphere what I experienced there.

Wow. I read some of the negative reviews and thought "Was I in the same place?" I was there at the end of June 2014. Stopped in during the day with my family and we were taken care of beautifully. It was kid-friendly, which is true of real French bistros. Daniel is really French! There are small rooms, a pretty... More

My husband and I live here in Budapest. There are many French STYLE restaurants, and some French INSPIRED restaurants. But only 3 completely French restaurants - and Chez Daniel is the best choice of the 3. True French cuisine - aperitifs - digestivs - Chef d' Cuisine - and PERSONALITY. We have been to many excellent French restaurants in many... More
