If you are after a traditional English breakfast after a heavy night session with sport on the tube, this pub doesn't disappoint. It is a short walk away from the market square and the prices are probably more expensive than traditional Hungarian cafes, but it did do the job.

When for lunch on rainy day... as it is behind the hotel thought quick bite without walking too far in the rain. As it's a cold and rainy day decided on tomatoe soup followed by burger. Ordered the royale burger with cheese but only got a cheeseburger which was very dry and disappointing. Wine pours small. No issues with overall... More

Nice pub with British Ales but also plenty of other European brands. Good pub menu, try the Wiener Schnitzel, which is great! Very friendly staff and handy central location opposite the Intercontinental at the Danube river. Enjoyable place!

Sightseeing is thirty work and the John Bull pub is outside my hotel. Prices for all drinks much lower than the hotels at around F1100. Food is available and quick to arrive. Sky sports and music stations on several TVs dotted around the bar. Good 'local' feel inside. Beers selection from Europe and U.K.

This pub was recommended by a friend so we gave it a try! The tomato soup was good but the goulash soup was EXCELLENT! I will return for that soup again while in Budapest. The Sheppard pie was great too. Very nice atmosphere and reasonable prices.

Visited with a friend, this pub is down a side street just down from the gold chain bridge. Went in for lunch, great beer, excellent goulash served with bread and I had pickles that where lovely, portions of chips are large. Great pub for during the St Patrick's weekend with the rugby on too! Very friendly, in fact we went... More

Went primarily to watch Sky Sports football but had dinner (really good) and several beers (again really good). Initially staff a bit pushy with food ordering and anxious that you weren't just going to watch the football nursing the same pint for 2 hours but after a while they were really friendly as were the locals.

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
