I decided to visit this place because of good recommendations. Unfortunatelly i was completely disapointed. The food overall is rather average. I got the worst beef tatar I have ever tried. In the end they billed us for 3 bottles of wine instead of 3 glasses. I want to believe that it was just a mistake. We stayed in the... More

It`s a must! Attentive and very helpfull staff. The food is AMAZING! Relaxed atmosphere, classic Hunagrian flavors/dishes with a modern twist. They also offer tasting menus after 6pm but a reservation is recommended all the time. Can`t wait to have another go!

Lamb with potato croquettes and grilled smoked goat cheese with salad were also very good. Well balanced and large servings. The only dish we do not recommend is Macok scones - kind... More

I had an excellent meal at this small restaurant located next to our hotel at the base of the castle in old town Eger. After having the foie gras appetizer, I had the game ragout which was very earthy and tasty, full of meat. However, as the waiter warned me, this was so hearty - a very large portion of... More

This is what You expect to be a fine dining restaurant/bistro not in Budapest. Quite expensive but well worth trying and becoming an addict to it. EXCELLENT food and service as well.

Wow! I had the chance to try some of Macok's dishes on different food festivals but at the restaurant it was even better. We visited the place with my girlfriend on a busy Saturday evening and had the orange pumpkin creamsoup, the game ragout soup, then the toasted rabbit with potato donuts and pork tenderloin with lentils and jerusalem artichoke... Taste of pork was a incredible. Rabbit was a tender and a full of taste.Next day I took a beef cheek goulash - it was amazing, tender meat with beautifull sauce. Nice serving, very good atmosphere, so good chocolate dessert. One of the best restaurants in hungary, much more delicious than many restaurant in Budapest near Duna. You pay a... More
