We have visited Tavira off and on for over 20 years and this cafe has always been a popular spot for both locals and tourists and deservedly so. However this year something has changed and the owners have decided to take it "up market" with the result that there are absolutely no customers and the locals have boycotted it. If... More

Real centre of activity adjacent to the Roman Bridgd. Great place to watch the world go by after dinner with your Maciera & Coffee...

I had reviewed this cafe earlier in the year (actually after years of going) and was very positive. However things have substantially changed for the worse - what a shame. The operation has reverted to a hostile serve yourself - without telling you. We went for breakfast and other than being shortchanged on the order, included fresh orange and tea... More

Good little stop off for a break. Beer was good and cans of drinks for the kids. Nice outside area gives a nice space. Food wise the toasties were very good but the burgers and hot dogs were a little strange? Order toasties and you'll be fine.

A star for mediocre food and another for a lovely location, but I'd avoid if I were you! We visited for lunch on a hot afternoon in August with 2 young kids. After sitting for a while in the heat we realised that we had to place our order inside, it was all a bit disorganised and the staff were... More

Such a shame how awful this restaurant is given its ideal location. 1)Crepes were incredibly tiny and used minimal toppings so were flavorless 2)Chocolate sauce in the crepes had a very thin consistent as though watered down 3)Toasties are made using bread which is also small, so does not fill you up in the slightest and not worth the money... A quick stop-off on a hot morning walk around town with the family, including two under 4's. The order was simply fruit juice, sandwiches and a Greek salad. The drinks were drinks, sandwiches were sandwiches, but whoever made the Greek salad has obviously never seen or made one before - main ingredients here being sweetcorn, ham, and some floppy white... Had less than average breakfast, served by the rudest waiter. Come regularly to Tavira Will not have my custom again! Manners go a long way!

We arrived at lunchtime and ordered a couple of drinks and some food. 30 minutes later the drinks had still not arrived. We had to ask the waiter to bring the drinks and he seemed surprised we wanted them before the food. When the drinks finally arrived the waiter also brought some chicken pastries with them. Upon biting into said... More

I feel this café gets a bit of a raw deal on Trip Advisor. We have been here many times over the past ten years and have never been ripped off or been treated badly by the staff. Although we generally only come here for breakfasts, when we have just arrived in Tavira, we also love their many delicious flavours... More
