The atmosphere is a bit basic but this is more than made up for by the quality, quantity and price of the food. Excellent fresh fish, dish of the day and menu choices,

Reviews read well and liked location by river but unfortunately after a wait and about to order the sardines we were told none left. We left and so were other people. You surely try not to run out of sardines if you run a popular restaurant in Portugal?

Unassuming restaurant beside the river. The food and service were excellent. Very clean restaurant really good value for money. We had fish and meat dishes freshly cooked which were very reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend.

We happened upon this after a recommendation by the hotel. Really good quality food, cooked simply but really well and very very generous portions. The hazelnut pastry was brilliant .

Decided to revisit following previous years visits. Unfortunately the black pork off! My husband had the mixed meat platter, we shared huge plate of very tasty fries and fragrant rice, excellent value

Found this place by coincidence but was pleasantly surprised by the food. Setting next to the river but with traffic. We are outside because of the kids but the indoor area looked the part. The chicken is cooked to perfection. Moist and crispy BBQ flavours. The rice is also very nice. Did not try any other dishes but the look... More

Excellent fish, superb terrace with view on the river! Traditional local restaurant, cheap lunch menus. Lovely place for a vinho verde on the terrace.

Os Arcos is not as popular as its neighbour Casa Simao but the fresh fish, chips and salad are just as good and in equally large quantities.

Tavira visitors of many years, but this was our first visit. We loved the fact this restaurant was more traditional. We opted not to go for coverts, so we can't comment on them, but our Swordfish and Seabass turned up with potatoes and the omelette and ribs turned up with rice & chips. Really good. We were washing down our... More
