Friendly service, quick for food to arrive and very surprised at the fantastic portion sizes and quality of food. My tuna steak was the size of my plate and was cooked perfectly nice atmosphere phenomenal value for money. Didn't get a fifth rating as not once did I get asked if I wanted another drink.

We visited this out of the way restaurant and got a fantastic surprise, we were there for a birthday celebration dinner which is sometimes a hit or a miss as there was a few of us but no the service was brilliant. The food which was typical Portuguese was also fabulous and after numerous drinks and bottles of wine etc... More

It's always heartwarming when staff go out of their way to give top end service in a restaurant. This was the case when we recently visited O Ciclista for a special celebratory lunch. Great prawn cocktail to start, followed by a superbly fresh sea bass which we shared. Antonio, our waiter speaks excellent English and gave us brilliant service. He... More

This was our 4th Anniversary Lunch. We choose O Ciclista, as we went there on our very 1st date! It did not disappoint at all. Antonio was superb. The black olives and warm bread rolls were a wonderful welcome, together with a litre of house white wine. We both had a prawn cocktail - wonderful. Then we shared a whole... More

Dived in here on as it was very close to our accommodation. Initially just for a drink as it was late afternoon but after a 2nd beer the restaurant had opened so thought we may as well eat there too. Good selection of fish and had been told that what they serve is locally caught and not from fish farms... More

Visited last night. Worst meal I have had in Portugal. Out of four meals, one was replaced because the microwave had not heated it up, another replaced twice, once because steak was like leather, and second time because the steak was raw. Chips were more like walker's crisps, and they were cold too. Only good thing about the night, lovely... More

What a shame we were only taken to this place on the last night of a fortnight holiday. We were staying in a complex across the road up on the hill so every time we came down the 120 steps we turned right into town. Not impressed with most of the meals in town. Met a couple who took us... More

It was my idea to go with guests, first time visit so apprehensive. All four had the veal with cream and mushroom sauce, not typical Portuguese in this town. It was said to be served with rice and chips, we asked for chips and veg, no trouble and served a selection of four on two large plates. Large carafe of... More

We had seabass and it was well prepared, the house wine war really good. Service very friendly, the locals know this place. The owner is a former cycling champion, the name means The Cyclist. It can handle groups easily. When busy the kitchen must work hard to keep up. You can sit outside, under a porch or inside. Take a... More
