Great pub at the top of the hill with spectacular views. Wholesome food with a roaring log fire. This is a must visit on your way into Akaroa.

Even though it was far from the best time to visit this place, a cold, rainy, winter evening (too dark to appreciate any view) the wood fired Lucas Bay pizza (cold-smoked Akaroa salmon with capers, cream cheese and rocket) with a glass of red made...More
Arrive and looked like it was closed but when we came in we were welcomed with a smile. We were the only ones there. Ordered beef burgers, a pizza and fish n chips along with some drinks. Drinks arrived promptly and we found a pool...More
Snow covered hills and a blustery wind led me to stop here for a warm drink and to take in the view. A warm fireplace welcomes all and the view is spectacular. Ordered a Mocachino off the menu on the wall. The waiter charges $5.20,...More
The views, both inside and out, are absolutely breath taking. The pub has a great selection of brews, wines and liquor. There is a wood fired pizza oven plus a good restaurant menu. All that is missing is rooms so that patrons could stay longer,...More
Very inventive pizza combinations and great local brews, a perfect combination for a memorable lunch. In fact it was so good we came back another 2 times! Was good value compared to many of the options in Akaroa.
Called in on the way to Akaroa. View nice but that's all. Service indifferent needs a vast update and vastly overpriced a number of travellers came looked and left the way we did. If I knew what a local beer and small wine was going...More
This place really does have a wonderfull view across Akaroa Harbour and the peninsular. While some might find the facilities a bit too rustic for their taste, I liked the down to earth feel, the friendly staff and food that was simple but well executed....More
It was a long and slow climb up the hill in an old double decker London bus but the views were certainly worthwhile. We had great cappuccino and scones and enjoyed the views over the valley which were spectacular. The sheep grazing on the hill...More
This is the only stopping point on the road into the area and, while the service is fine, they really need to spend some cash on the facilities. The toilets are outdated and badly in need of fresh furnishing etc
