After seeing the shop very busy one night we decided it must be good and that we would try it out the next night. Once again it was very busy and there was only one person working but we went to order and prepared to...wait. I asked what fresh fish they had and the reply was they only cooked frozen fish - OMG. I opted for a burger instead and some chips and not really holding out much hope of enjoying my takeaway meal. I can honestly say that the burger was awesome and even though the poor girl was rushed off her feet, she still managed to produce an awesome burger and the chips were great too. This place has so much potential to extend their menu and customer turnover.More
After coming into town at 7.05pm to order dinner because open hours stated 8pm close only to see sign being taken inside ? And shop owner wouldn't come to door when I knocked to explain why she had closed almost an hour early, rude and not...good enough could hard timesMore
Incredible one woman show! Although fish and chips (for 7) took close to an hour to be prepared and was nothing spectacular, there was something special about seeing one woman work the till, prepare and cook the food, and serve it - all incredibly efficiently....Would highly recommend going here and eating by the harbor.More
have rung NUMEROUS times for a order as i am a LOCAL, and have NOT and NEVER spoken to ANYONE on the PHONE. When going down, the PERSON cooking has RESORTED to NOT understanding ENGLISH, who was the ONLY person present and she looked HARASSED...and BOREDMore
We'd just ridden 40km of the Queen Charlotte trail and while a strictly healthy feed may have been in order, we did have a appetite for fish and chips. After asking a few different locals which would be the best fish and chips the unanimous...reply directed us to Kiwi Takeaways. Really really good. Just take insect repellent if you are going to eat on the grass area overlooking the harbour as the sand flies are fierce.More
Got oily, tasteless food! Probably could do with changing the oil to begin with?
Calamari rings - not good at all, very rubbery and couldn't eat them
Hoki bites - more like (not sure what they actually were)...
Kumara Chips - sorry but not good...No care, no love and would not recommend this place at all, spend your money elsewhereMore
