There is nothing wrong with the apartment. You have as stated on the internet page the view, a good bathroom. But there is something lacking in the bedroom as in the public areas. Like the new management does not know if they should go Indian or keep the British side. The only good design approach is the restaurant as they... More

Room lovely clean, great view and service very good. Butter chicken to die for. Owner gave us a lift to the ferry which was very kind and saved us a long walk up a steep hill!!

Didn't stay here but ventured down in the morning for a coffee. At $6 (!!!!!!!) for a mocha and $6.50 (!!!!!!) for a soy latte we hoped the quality would be good but it was terrible. Would skip the coffee altogether next time - I'd rather be decaffeinated with $12.50 in my pocket than drink coffee here. No way does... More

We went there for lunch after getting married there 5 years ago. Wow, it has really changed. The food and service were terrible. But the worst thing was the state of the grounds and facilities, which were very run-down. What was once a nice banked lawn overlooking the bay has been ruined and even had what looked like a trailer-load... More

We visited the Portage Hotel for lunch with a group of friends for a days ride. When we arrived we were saddened to see the state of once an amazing place. At the height of Summer the place was very quite, smelly rubbish skips close by which smelt terrible, overgrown gardens, a very dirty unkept pool and all in all... More

Dinner outside enjoying the views of the Bay with the sun beating down--just wonderful. The food was excellent and the service just right.I would definitely go back.

Had a really good meal here after a long day, nice spot to stay and take a break as well as recovering from day 3 of Queen Charlotte's Track. Nice view over the Kenepuru sound and the fresh mussels were stunning.

We stayed there with friends while doing the queen Charlotte walk. Rather dated accommodation which has had a spruce up. Bar meals close at 5pm, the restaurant Rice's after that. Consider $35 for butter chicken, and $45 for a bottle nz wine a bit expensive.

I visited in the quiet season- only 8-10 guests at the resort when I stayed. The gentleman at reception was very helpful- answering all of my little questions, and flexible about dinner and breakfast times, and even dropped me back to the Queen Charlotte Track the next morning. The resort is set in a nice little bay in the Kenepuru... More

I was staying at a backpackers in Portage and popped down for dinner (as it is literally the only place serving food in Portage.) When i arrived, the resort was dark, the chef had gone home, and the manager explained that as they had no guests, they were not expecting anyone. He offered to recall the chef or to make... More
