Very warm greeting from Lauren. Complimentary drinks in the bar, then to our private balcony room. Gourgeous weather and views. Extremely generous buffet for dinner. A little dated for us but okay. (Monday Nights apparently) Comfortable bed. Rooms are a little noisy .

On a roadie with my partner, stopped by the boat launch ramp, and wandered up to the Snapper Bar which was closed.Went to leave and saw some local looking people wander up to the main building in the complex so followd them and was pleasantly...suprised that there was a open bar up there.Ordered vegetatian pizza and wedges and ciders from a helpful polite young lad and lass at the bar. Lovely deck to admire the fantastic views and food came out well presented and very very tasty and was a very fair price Def would stop again. They just need to get better signage to put maybe at the main entrance and at the boat ramp to say the bar is open as we were ready to walk away as it looked to be closed. Thanks again Ross & AndreaMore

Stayed one night on a stopover on the Queen Charlotte Track. The location and views are stunning, the place has so much potential to be the luxury stay it sells itself to be but unfortunately is a bit dated and lacked any attention to detail....The staff were great, friendly attentive and can't fault them. It was nice to arrive to a cold beer on the balcony and have a hot shower. The room was clean and had a large, comfy bed overlooking the water. The meal was incredibly disappointing. We had the salmon mousse and scallops to start which were very average. The scallops small and rubbery. For main had the vegtable lasagne, the only veggie dish on the menu, and had only a few small cubes of unidentifiable veg with mainly layer of lasagne sheets covered in cheese sauce. Even the mussels main was disappointing and we wouldn't be surprised if a lot of it was frozen. I appreciate in covid times tourist destinations must be struggling but small attention to detail costs nothing ie a phone in the room that doesn't work, a TV aerial cord hanging loose with no TV. Such a shame. This place is lucky it has a monopoly on this leg of the Queen Charlotte Track. Go there for the cold beer at the end and comfy bed to rest in.More

This was luxury on the Queen Charlotte track. Our room was roomy and luxurious (if you did not look too close). I happened to notice a lot of mold at the bottom of the shower and the cupboards were untidy - extra bedding (not too...clean looking) fell out when we opened the door. But nice view from the room and balcony. Nice room from the hotel lounge. Great bed and linen. Really nice helpful staff. Beautiful venue. Good food.More

Waiting staff were excellent and remembered our large order, with everyone getting what they ordered for breakfast.

The staff here couldn't of been any better there was a large group of us for a 30th birthday the staff were very accomadating and really went out of there way to make sure everyone was happy! The food menu is pretty limited especially if...you where to stay any longer than a few days. Rooms are comfortable with really comfy beds definitely pay the extra and get a balcony. Again thanks to the staff who made the stay!!More

Portage was a real disappointment. Having just opened after winter closure one would expect it to be fully operational. It was not. Beer taps didn’t work. Supplies were short so menu orders had to be altered after ordering. It was not very busy. Menu is...average and the service appalling. The staff need training in food etiquette. This hotel is tired. The rooms were Clean. Showers have weak water pressure however the beds were comfortable.More
