I stopped by here one day after going to 7-11 to buy a lotto ticket. I decided to try the proper burger based on the bartender's suggestion. I took it to go and when I ate it at home, I was SO Impressed. It might...More

Duke's was really delicious. We went with a group of 8, and the waitress made it very clear that the only thing you should order for brunch is the burger... we all felt a bit pressured into it and figured they tell everyone that to...More

We enjoyed our burgers which come well embellished and could have sat outside on the sidewalk section in the sun but chose an indoor table. They also offer beer and wine. The restroom was very tidy and staff attentive.

While I dig the Brit vibe, like look and love the beers, the food is just ok. The Proper Burger is pretty good, but most of the other dishes I’ve found to be average. The service is fine and the location next to the zoo...More

Small restaurant with limited menu but the food is good. The pastrami sandwich in particular, was awesome. There is absolutely no fat on the meat which I have never encountered for pastrami.

Hi Taylor, Thanks for the feedback. Like many restaurants, we do not accept substitutions. It has nothing to do with any of the reasons you mention, but rather that we have high volume in a rather small kitchen, so it is a question of logistics...More

I think I just ate the best burger that has ever passed my lips! The proper burger (have it med-rare) was a delight of tastes! Dukes is directly across from the National Zoo and is well worth walking across the street for lunch.
