If you have time to wait, it's well worth it! The menu has something for everyone. Service was great it's just a bit noisy.

This was our second visit to Founding Farmers. The first time we arrived without reservations. We were told the wait would be 45 minutes. We tried to get a seat at the bar but after 30 minutes realized this was not going to happen. I watched the hostess desk ( I was stuck next to it so I couldn't help... More

This restaurant is a sustainable organization in a LEED building - very conscious of the environment and the sourcing of natural ingredients. The choices are plenty and very tasty - the Bacon Avocado Burger was the best cooked burger I've had in a long time. It is a big place and noisy but not conducive to a relaxing meal.

Delicious Food, Excellent Ambience. I don't think you can go wrong with anything you pick on the menu. The service was better than average. However, MAKE A RESERVATION. The lunch wait for a party of 6 was 30 minutes, not incredibly long but that was at 11:30 am. So be sure a make a reservation but when the food is... More

The food was amazing and the service we received was exceptional. The only problem is their menu is a little limited and there was no kids option (obviously not a problem for those without kids but with a 3 year old I was unaware).

This restaurant is fantastic. I went once two months ago (from out of town) and was so impressed that we went to DC with Founding Farmers on our to-do list. The place is always packed, it seems, so reservations are definitely recommended to avoid a long wait. The food was delicious both times. Very generous portions and absolutely delectable. I... More

This was a fabulous restaurant. We had gone a bus tour with DC Trails and the tour guide referred it to us. The atmosphere was very pleasant and relaxing. Loved the menu choices! I had the rotisserie chicken and the portion size was pretty large, enough to share. Of course we were also tempted by the dessert menu. Trust me,... More

We took the family here for lunch and it didn't dissapoint! We ate everything from the hotdogs and burgers to steak and eggplant sandwich. Everyone was really happy with their meals! My Arnold Palmer was the only thing I would say wasn't very good but that is my only complaint. Great lunch spot!

Good service. Clean and very interesting foods. We had three different items and they were all excellent. I especially enjoyed the crab Benedict. We didn't have any trouble getting a table but we were told they would need the table in a out 90 min. We didn't have any issues with the time.

My friend and I came here for breakfast after hearing a friend's recommendation. The menu looked amazing so we were sold immediately. We sat at a community table and our waitress was very cheerful and attentive. I ordered the beignets, but something had happened to the fryer, I believe, so they weren't able to be made that morning. My friend... More

Founding Farmers, the Greenest Restaurant in DC, is owned by the more than 40,000 family farmers of the NDFU, serving American inspired real food and drink with an emphasis and focus on cooking from scratch. While our restaurant is supplied by hundreds of family farms everywhere, that doesn't mean we know every farm, and that doesn't mean we never have to buy product from the traditional (corporate) supply chain, but it does mean we're working hard to direct our purchasing dollars where it aligns with our values. We're serving the best food we can, made from scratch in our kitchens every day. Our innovative, American dishes are made primarily with pure ingredients honoring the farmers and their hard-earned bounty.
