We were in town for the craft brewers conference and we were in this restaurant for a private event. The staff was great, the good was unique, and they have the same top beers on draft as Churchkey upstairs.

When I go to restaurants charging more than $25 for a main meal I expect high quality food but I was left sadly disappointed here. I had the Roseda Petite Fillet and petit it certainly was. I was left unsated by the meagre amount of meat, bizarrely array of coloured sauces and delicately arranged vegetables, so had to ask for... More

We met friends in Birch & Barley for dinner during a 3 day visit to DC. Very nice restaurant & no hesitation in recommending. Great service, very welcoming & attentive. Lovely, varied menu & great selection of beers & wines. Atmosphere great & lively - a really friendly, relaxed ambiance.

I came with friends excited given the hype for Birch and Barley. I was underwhelmed unfortunately. The tater tots were good but nothing special. The mortadella was also average but at least better than the frittata which had absolutely no flavor. Nice space and the service was good I wouldn't come back here again, given how boring the food was.... More

Great place to dine or have a cocktail. We were seated on the ground floor right next to the kitchen! Appetizers were great and the dinner even more so. There is a cocktail lounge upstairs for the serious party people, did not go up there but they all seemed to be having a good time. I'd go back again

I was in DC for business. Hotel recommended Birch & Barley bar for a good beer. The ambiance is inviting, comfortable, and friendly. I sat at the bar and Tony and I discussed the beer selection. His recommendation was exactly what I wanted. When I returned, Tony remembered what I had ordered a few days prior. Thanks for making me... More

My brother the beer aficionado recommended us Birch & Barley, for their amazing food, besides the 500+ selection of beers from around the world (of which many on tap!). And waw, it was great. We got seated very quickly (made a reservation, though, and that is recommended on busy nights), and our duo of waiters made us feel right at... More

Got into an empty restaurant and immediately, they were pushing drinks then hurry and order, then removed food before we were done... we basically had to eat an run. We we were so disappointed, we left there and went somewhere else for drinks and dessert. I will... More

5 of us walked into B&B at 2:30 on a Saturday... ages 12-52. We had a delicious array of dishes and our waiter expertly guided us to the perfect personal selection from the extensive craft beer menu. Excellent meal all around!

I love birch and barley for brunch, but had never been for a business meeting. It was perfect. Hip enough to wow the client, but the food and service also impressed. I appreciated the complimentary amuse -- delish! It was some yummy baconie pork bite with goat cheese The wine list is impressive and manageable. The food was wonderful -... More
