We loved the atmosphere of this location and the food selection was able to satisfy all ages. While we did not have young children with us, I would caution that if you did, the environment might not allow comfort for other diners. Seating was close,...More

Our 2:15 reservation was accepted. One of us was on time and waiting for two more of us to arrive almost 20 minutes later. We took time to order due to our animated discussions and none of this affected the way we were served. When...More

On this cold and blustery December day, we did not feel like braving the weather, so sprinted across 16th St NW, from the warmth of the St Regis Hotel for the warmth of P.J. Clarke’s. We had a nice lunch, about 6 mos before, so...More

We dropped in with no forward reservation. The restaurant was busy but not full. The food was on the good side of average but not amazing. Good for a quick meal if you’re in a hurry

The arugula and goat cheese salad was delicious. The French dip was good but not great. Nice, dark atmosphere at night. Classy.

If you want a steak, go! I had a perfectly cooked ribeye, rare, without question. Ignore the reviews about brussel sprouts, really...... Rib eye rare and you will be fine! If you feel guilty, order a token vegetable! It really is a family restaurant and...More

Full of local working people but welcoming none the less since our hotel bar wasn't open. Bar has a menu and folks were eating, I was just there for the drinks.

Went there for Sunday brunch and they have a great 3-2-1 deal. First drink is $10, second is $5, third is $1. Great oysters and the portions are just right!

My sister and I ate here while waiting on our hotel room to be ready. The menu needs to be updated because they had things on it that were no longer available. All in all it was pretty good.

They have a special room you might ask about. In my view they could accommodate your group. Check the web for the prices. I thought they were reasonable.

K Street, the road to the White House, is also the proud home to P.J. Clarke’s—the storied American Saloon with a history that dates back to the late 1800s. The original P.J. Clarke’s in Manhattan has stood beneath rows of skyscrapers for nearly 130 years, collecting famous and infamous regulars. Appreciated for the convivial ambiance and classic fare, P.J. Clarke’s is the quintessential American Saloon.
In our nation’s capitol, the story continues as oak and mosaic floors, red leather banquets and walls lined with eccentric portraits and nostalgic photos contribute to a reassuring familiarity that is classic P.J.s, but also construe a distinct Washington sensibility. Seasoned bartenders make favorite classic cocktails the right way; dexterous shuckers ply the freshest shellfish at a marble topped Raw Bar; and the old-school, convivial dining room welcomes government A-listers, students and their families and visitors to our capitol.
