Cool place. Good wait staff. Area is unique and much larger than it looks. Variety of foods, choices for vegetarians.. Good for everyone. Not fancy but good. Outdoor seating in warm weather.

...I have ever eaten. Now you may recall that the spouse and I don't get out much so I was really looking for to the trip to Washington. We visited the Black History Museum and Busboys and Poets came highly recommended. We were not disappointed....More

I saw that this place had great reviews but wasn't necessarily keen on another American fusion place. But I was pleasantly surprised -- the place is very funky; restaurant, cafe, bookstore, performance space -- nice homages to all kinds of interesting political and cultural figures,...More

Every restaurant should have a bookstore, great art and a groovy vibe! I had an omelette and coffee—fair trade and delicious. Folks around me had yummy looking sweet potato pancakes and mimosas. Highly recommended!

I save the 5 stars for the truly gourmet places. This was not gourmet, but it was very good for what it was. Friendly staff. Nice menu. Not particularly fancy--just one step above pub food. But solid and good. Lots of vegan and vegetarian options....More

This is a busy place, but we never felt rushed. Our meals were excellent (I had salmon), and the beer/wine choices and specials were very good. I would definitely come back!

My friend and I had heard great things so we decided to give it a go... And will probably be the one and only time for each of us. The bookstore /restaurant had a great and fun atmosphere and the server was amazingly friendly which...More
