Three of us had a variety of food, from lobster roll to asian/korean to fried fish. I had the spicy fish and chips. It was fresh, well prepared, and tasty enough. I'd have it again, but I was a bit disappointed with the "chips" that...More

Any type if fresh seafood is extremely welcome to those of us traveling from the Midwest. Fresh chowder, lobster rolls, crab, shrimp, crab just tastes better when a person is on the coast. Legal Sea Food didn't disappoint!

What I remember from the brand out of Boston, was great seafood and service - not even 10 years ago. Maybe this is an anomaly location, but the quality of food and service is unsatisfactory. I ordere 18 oysters, 2 oyster forks, 1oz cocktail sauce....More

I hadn’t been here in a couple years but it’s still a great restaurant. I wasn’t sure I would be able to get a table as there was a Caps playoff game, but I had no issue. The waiter paid attention to my allergies and...More

It may not be a big deal to some people, but for someone with Celiacs, this is a big deal. Our server was very helpful and knowledgeable in guiding our choices. The fish fry was delicious, and you'd never know it's gluten free.

We enjoyed the salmon, both the grilled and the Mediterranean grilled selections, along with carrot cake and the cucumber cooler cocktail. A super good experience.

The restaurant is quite tired and needs a lick of paint. STAFF were lovely and portions ok size but presentation was quite sloppy. With a little bit of TLC this could be a great place.

We walked from the Museum of American History to Legal Seafood for a late 1:30 lunch. At this time, the restaurant wasn’t crowded. I had the Boston baked cod served with spinach, grilled tomato, and mashed sweet potatoes. The cod was fresh and side dishes...More

The signature dish at Legal Sea Foods – really fresh fish. Legal Sea Foods has long proven that a consistent, high quality dining experience never goes out of style. With over 40 varieties of fresh fish and shellfish available throughout the year as well as an award-winning wine list, there’s no doubt why legions of fans have fallen hook, line and sinker. A bipartisan favorite, we have occupied the nation’s capital since 1995, anchored across from the Verizon Center and around the corner from the International Spy Museum, National Portrait Gallery and Chinatown. Make waves at our racetrack-shaped bar or sup on seafood underneath the hull-like ceiling in our restaurant’s main dining room. Either way, be presidential and order a cup of our New England Clam Chowder; it’s been served at every Inauguration since 1981. Other accolades include “Best Place for Great Seafood” (Washingtonian Magazine, 2008) and “Best Crab Cakes” (Washingtonian Magazine, 2008)
