Legal Seafood was the best meal we had in DC. Don't expect a cheap meal...but you definately get what you pay for. The service was impeccable; unobtrusive, professional, prompt and courteous. The food was exceptional. Between the 4 we ordered, grilled scallops, lobster, seafood casserole,...More

Met some friends here after touring some sites. Service was very good, including attention to my wife's allergies. Food was excellent. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Fish & chips were even good as leftovers the next day, which isn't a sure thing for fish, but it...More

I basically swung by here because it was a seafood restaurant and close to where I was at during lunch hour. It was a pleasant surprise. I was expecting generic type food and taste, but it was actually good. Not as good as some seafood...More

We generally avoid franchise chains. Legal Seafood is an exception to this rule. In fact we ended up eating there twice. We ate in the bar both times only because the wait was longer than we wanted. Great friendly bartender.

We'd heard rave reviews about this place and were eager to try it. Maybe our expectations were too high. I think they were short staffed, so immediately, our service was less than par, which already sets a tone. The waiter was friendly and attentive when...More

The service was excellent. Food was cooked perfectly but average taste, maybe because we did not get the awesome clam chowder. Expensive.......

The signature dish at Legal Sea Foods – really fresh fish. Legal Sea Foods has long proven that a consistent, high quality dining experience never goes out of style. With over 40 varieties of fresh fish and shellfish available throughout the year as well as an award-winning wine list, there’s no doubt why legions of fans have fallen hook, line and sinker. A bipartisan favorite, we have occupied the nation’s capital since 1995, anchored across from the Verizon Center and around the corner from the International Spy Museum, National Portrait Gallery and Chinatown. Make waves at our racetrack-shaped bar or sup on seafood underneath the hull-like ceiling in our restaurant’s main dining room. Either way, be presidential and order a cup of our New England Clam Chowder; it’s been served at every Inauguration since 1981. Other accolades include “Best Place for Great Seafood” (Washingtonian Magazine, 2008) and “Best Crab Cakes” (Washingtonian Magazine, 2008)
