Went to DGS Deli with a group of folks and everyone to a person was raving about the food and service. We sampled many items on the menu and the Matzoh Ball Soup, Corned Beef and Bread Pudding Dessert were top notch. Highly recommend to anyone!

Busy and crowded on Friday night. The coned beef was very good, as was the bread. My wife's mushroom-barley soup was excellent. BUT this is the thinnest deli sandwich I've ever had, and at $15 it's not a bargain.

Good bread, good pastrami, fast service, reasonable prices, what else can you say. Convenient location by DuPont circle.

DGS is never too crowded, and it's a good place for lunch. It's mostly sandwiches, but there are also some salads and other entrees.

Omg what incredible food! I couldn't believe how authentic and flavorful this was! Like a trip down memory lane for my tastebuds--as if Bubby herself had worked all week in the kitchen! Our delightful server, Crystal, explained the dishes and Yiddish signs in the wall to members of our party who were not members of the tribe. Then she quickly... More

The pastrami and corned beef are very good, but $19 for sandwich and fries is really high, even for DC. With tax and tip, that's a $23 lunch. At that price I expect a superb/memorable sandwich - like, maybe twice as much pastrami or corned beef. You can get a great sandwich/lunch for less in the immediate area. Good, but... More

Our daughter was very excited to take us to this amazing restaurant and we were not disappointed. We sat outside and had a delicious breakfast. Portions were a perfect size and service was great . We had the poached eggs over latkes that were fabulous. Everything is fresh and made to order. I can't wait to go back!

Location super central and nice place. Fashionable people. If you visit Washington is worth a visit. Totally different from the typical D.C. restaurant. Quite expensive and very loud. Choose ground floor and book in advance if you plan to go.

New takes on old deli favorites. They use the finest ingredients. Hand-sliced pastrami, cured in-house. Corned beef as well. Double-baked rye bread. Dr Brown's sodas. Matzoh ball soup. All slightly altered from the expected, and improved upon. Even the pickles were noteworthy, including deviled eggs.

This place was delicious and amazing. My husband and I had initially come to the area for the Prime Rib but after driving around and not being able to find it even, we parked and then began walking down Connecticut Ave and stumbled upon this place. We decided to give it a chance. It was so worth it. We showed... More
