I've been eating here for years and I've always had a great experience. The food and service has been consistently great. I always get the carne asada dish with rice and beans. The meat is tender, juicy, and flavorful. But what brings me back, what I believe brings everyone back is the frozen margaritas. The swirl is my top fave,... More

Lauriol Plaza is a popular spot! It's a great place to meet with friends and enjoy a slow dining experience-meaning you can take your time and not feel rushed-the food was very timely in being served. The restaurant is huge with plenty of seating so perhaps that's why they don't rush you-or they are just decent folks who just let... More

We had a party of 17 and had great service as well as an amazing meal. Everything was well prepared and the menu is extensive and goes beyond tacos and burritos to roasted fish, lamb fajitas and entree salads. It has a very noisy and festive atmosphere, which was not a great choice for a celebratory dinner with speeches, but... More

They have great fajitas, the frozen margueritas are awesome too. The environment, service and location are pretty good. Love this place!

Came into town for business and asked where to eat an early dinner. Walked 2 blocks and found a great outdoor experience with super food. Margarita Monday was an added perk!

This place has been around forever and I think that it's better now than ever. We had dinner there last week (on a Friday night before Mothers Day) and it was terrific in all ways but one--the noise level. The place was packed and the crowd was definitely in a celebratory mood; so table conversation was difficult. Everything else was... More

Cool place to hang out in trendy DC neighborhood. Great food, good service, with rooftop and sidewalk seating options. Fajitas are a must try. Guacamole is one of the best I've had. House margarita is only average.

Had a great time here dining with friends. Staff was very courteous. Crab quesadilla very good. Shrimp tacos good. My friend did not rave about the Lomo De Puerco (pork) dish. A little hike from the Metro station (about 7 blocks).

The place is huge. Unfortunately, they seem to bring large groups of tourists with buses to eat there. It is super-loud and noisy, which is a shame because the music they play is great. The food is OK, but just OK. Nothing special. no haute cuisine here. It is basic, efficient, and a bit bland. The margaritas were half price,... More

Had a quick late lunch when we first arrived in D.C. It was a few blocks from our hotel. Appeared to be frequented by locals. If you are closeby, worth a try.

Lauriol Plaza Restaurant was established in 1983. Ever since then, we have become a landmark in DC.
We are nestled in one of the most vibrant, diversified Dupont Circle neighborhood in DC.
According to food critics and clients, we are popular for good food, good service and good prices.
We have the most diversified clientele, who has a true passion for Mexican, International, Latin American food.
This is the spot to see and be seen in the Nation’s Capital and, although, we are a large restaurant, in essence, we still remain the small neighborhood restaurant we once were back in the old days.
We are proud to have served families and couples in the 80’s and their new generations in the 2000s, and, through engagement, weddings and reunions celebrations, we continue to serve them generation after generation.
Since the moment you enter, you will be impressed with the scenery. Whether you sit in the main floor, the mezzanine, the rooftop or the outside patio, you will always see a stunning perspective of the scenery. Inside a mural of a Spanish fiesta covers one wall of the bar; the interior beyond is cool and urbane, all matte-black metal and white walls, with woods in four tones forming the curved ceiling and stair rails, the expanse is magnified by windows as tall as most of the neighborhood's entire buildings. Dog walkers, bikers and joggers pass through sidewalks as if they were part of the decoration in an urban film. There so much to see.
We thank our loyal clientele and our hard working staff for making Lauriol Plaza the landmark institution is has become for the past 30 decades.
So in your next visit to DC, please pay us a visit.
