This beautiful space has a great location facing the Potomac River on Georgetown ' s waterfront. The food here is decent but nothing exceptional to talk about. Prices are high for the level of food and service. Better choices are available nearby with more creative kitchens.

On July 28th, my friends, our mentor and myself went to celebrate our graduation to the Sequoia restaurant. We were all extremely excited about enjoying a nice lunch after couple of months of intense studying. Unfortunately, our experience has turned out to be rather disappointing. Myself and 2 of my friends have all ordered a tuna steak. Not even 10... More

Our family met friends here on our trip to D.C. on a warm summer evening. The setting/location on the waterfront with outdoor seating couldn't have been more beautiful and enjoyable. Also great people watching! This restaurant has a very large capacity so don't expect a quaint experience, but as long as you are willing to share the space, it is... More

We go to Sequoia once a year just for their Christmas buffet. This, our third visit, was perfection - great table overlooking the Georgetown waterfront, stellar service, excellent food. Their buffet is very large and feels uncrowded as a result. Lots of seafood, many meats, traditional breakfast, creative side dishes, sushi and a dessert selection that will get you into... More

Had a table by the window overlooking the Potomac. What a beautiful restaurant with a Sunday Brunch that will leave you full for the rest of the day. A raw bar, eggs benedict station, beef carving, sushi, salads galore, omelet station, a row of assorted hot dishes, asian table, breads and baked goods and MORE! The desserts go on and... More

On a lovely, warm October evening, we ate on the terrace overlooking the river. The service was so bad, we had to bus our own table and go to the waiter stand to fill our own waters.

We dined here for brunch on a Saturday in November and we had a nice table with a view of the water. The dining room was quiet and relaxing. The buffet was $49.95 per person plus tax and gratuity. The food - The fried chicken was dry, the mini desserts were hard on the edges, especially the red velvet cake... More

Sequoia was recommended and since it had a waterfront location, thought I'd try it. The menu was just okay- My husband had the Chilean sea bass and it was delicious. I tried the lobster pot pie and it left a lot to be desired. Wasn't well seasoned and I was disappointed. Service was very good. Didn't leave feeling that I... More

We just had dinner on Monday night. Seated quickly with flair. Everything downhill from that point on. Our server was a little snobby and frequently disappeared. My scallops were marginal at best. My octopus appetizer was a little tough and my wife's grilled squid tasted like a rubber tire - really bad. Overall we were really disappointed and will NOT... More

An incredibly beautiful and quite pricey restaurant which was rather let down by the food and service. The food was ok, but I had a bowl of mussels, several of which had barely opened and should not have been sent to the table. Our waitress had an odd way of checking all was ok - she just breezed by the... More
