Our Concierge at The Hyatt recommended this place when i told him we were looking for good authentic Chinese food and we weren't disappointed.I love the guy making dumplings in the window and Ducks hanging in front of the window,It reminded me of NYC. We ate dumplings,Peking Duck and a Sash-wan Shrimp. The service was great the food better and we... More

We ordered the spicy and crispy seafood dish and the fried dumplings. Both were cold, unsavory and greasy. The bowl of fresh noodles was the only palatable food. The mapo tofu was small. The stir fried vegetable dish was so-so. The bill for these 5 dishes came to a hefty $72! Find another place to eat if you don't want... More

... for it. It was a decent value, but not a good dining experience. I ordered duck, my first time to do so in many years. It was a little tough and not easy to eat, but the flavor was ok. My husband's dish disappointed him. He loves Chinese, but not this time. This is a small and narrow cafe,... More

Place has apparently been in DC's Chinatown forever Absolutely no ambience but you can't beat the quality of the food, especially their big bowls of soup..Lunch specials are an excellent buy

From outside the front window, you can watch them make the fresh noodles right on the spot. Chinatown Express is located just a block down from the Metro Gallery Place stop- on 6th St., NW and H St. Very busy place for dinner- a one floor, two room restaurant that serves primarily fresh noodles made on the spot. Pretty cramped... More

The first time we went there, we specifically went because of the dumplings. The fried ones are better than the steamed (we had pork and leek). We also had steamed pork buns that were very tasty. My friends couldn't resist a whole Peking duck for $19! It comes with pancakes, plum sauce and sliced onions. They tell me it was... More

If you have eaten much Chinese food or you are an oriental then you will know the dumpling and xiao long bao (小龙包) are not the best. The xiao long bao was a disappointment, nothing like the ones I have eaten in Chinese restaurant in Hong Kong, China, etc. It suppose to contain some soup in the dumpling but it's... More

This place does not have bells or whistles. It is not fancy. It is just good Chinese at a great price! I had the steamed buns with chicken and Kung Pao. Large portions and delicious. If I lived here I'd frequent this place!

The food was really good! The homemade noodles were great, as were the pot stickers. You wouldn't go here for the ambience! The price is very reasonable too!
