We have been dining here for years. This was our first experience waiting an hour for our food. The water arrived with the food. Just me and hubby. Great music and good vibe. Just disappointed in the wait. The fish and jollof rice never disappoints.

The food at Bukom Café is authentic West African fare. I tried the Red-Red, one of my favorite dishes that I experienced on my trip to Ghana in 2003. The server/bartender was very helpful and efficient. I really enjoyed my meal and raved about it to my friends and family. We will be going back for more.

I was in town on Sunday night for a meeting Monday morning and was looking for an dsAfrican Restaurant. The location is right in the middle of a popular section of Adams Morgan right near Columbia Rd and 18th. Street. It is a small cozy place. We were there between 7-8:30p.m. I know that this area is packed on the... More

Friday's there is a good reggae band and the food is tasty although service is quite slow. Great for those who enjoy a Caribbean West Indian crowd.

The food at this restaurant was absolutely amazing! I have to start this review discussing talking the enormous deep fried red snapper served with slightly spicy Jollof rice and a fresh salad. I also enjoyed the taste of a ginger flavored drink with coconut rum it was so refreshing! Before entering the club you hear and feel the rhythmic and thunderous... More

Ate dinner here with friends. Pretty slow service but since we had no hurry it was not an issue. Load, full of people and music, the place is jiving. Food, when it did come was interesting and in good portions. Not bad value for money and the staff are very polite and friendly. Would of again

My girlfriend and I actually stumbled upon this place leaving the 18th street garage. Upon entry, there's a live band playing new hits as well as classics. The bartenders were very sweet, even came to dance with us at the end of the night. The people were a comfortable mix of West Africans, West Indians, and Middle Easterner's*. The thing... More

Came in there as the first of our party. The guys at the bar invited me to join them for a drink while waiting. Had a lot of fun with them and when the rest of my party arrived they thought I've been there before because everybody was talking to me as if they knew me for more than ten... More

The food here is A-MAZING. I love West African food and happened to stumble upon this place. I loved it so much, I came back two more times during my short DC stay. The Cassava was perfect but I suggest trying out the Egusi... It was my first time trying it, picked by the owner, and so delicious. Also, great... More

The Suya is really fantastic at this resto. I order it each time i visit and can't see to get enough. A reggae band frequently plays too. The furnishings are a bit old and the lights too bright. All in all, a great value for money
