Nice atmosphere with an outdoor eating area. Food was overpriced but good. Service was ok and very professional. Portions were adequate

The food was good quality Italian fare, but the attention of the top class Maitre D from El Salvador made for a memorable evening.

Oh dear lord what is all the fuss about?! We waited 25 minutes for our table. The volume was indescribable - a wall of deafening sound. The food; dated Italian - edible. The service - what service! Cramped space - chair continually jostled and bumped...More

Wonderful dinner here at Cafe Milano. Excellent service. Our wait staff was outstanding. Appetizers, main course, and dessert were all amazing. Not one person at our table was disappointed. Nice atmosphere; casual, but classy. Recommended!!

I have had 8-10 meals at Milano over the past 7 years. All were very good or excellent. The staff is always solicitous, but never hovering. There are always multiple eyes across the dining areas both to assure responsive assistance and to prevent celebrity diners...More

Service was rushed, water glasses were not refilled and attention to detail was lacking. We are talking remedial things here... when a plate is cleared, someone needs to come by and replace utensils prior to the next course being served... basic stuff... On the other...More

If you like Italian food then this is the place to go but you must book sooner rather than later if you want a table. Busy but the service is excellent and the food exemplary.

We have enjoyed this restaurant in the past. The last time, we sat outside for lunch. Service was slow and spotty. True, it was crowded--but maybe they should hire more servers. I ordered pizza, which was OK but unremarkable. I took half home. When I...More

I would say smart casual. There are always men and women in suits...I would not wear jeans to go to Caffe' Milano but you will not be turned away for wearing them.

Guests savor genuine Southern Coastal Italian cuisine in a setting reminiscent of a stylish Milan boutique. Framed designer scarves adorn the walls in a creative and colorful homage to Italian fashion. The ceiling gives way to coves of hand-painted murals celebrating Italian culture, including the stunning portrait of famed opera singer, Placido Domingo, in the room named in his honor. During warm-weather months, the front wall of floor-to-ceiling windows open onto an outdoor sidewalk patio, adding a touch of Northern Italy to the Georgetown streetscape, creating one of the most sought after dining spots in Washington. Since owner Franco Nuschese blazed onto the DC dining scene over twenty years ago, Cafe Milano has been a power center for diplomats, politicians, journalists, broadcasters, lobbyists, entertainers, and all who enjoy fine Italian food and gracious attentive service.
