The Capitol Hill location is great. For out of towners spending the day in DC, wander over behind the US Capitol to 8th street where there are many options for a great culinary experience. Banana Cafe & Piano bar is one of them for sure. On a warm afternoon / evening the outdoor seating and margaritas will be a great... More

Went with family on a Monday evening. I got a pork mofongo, very tasty and a huge amount of food. Seafood dish on rice seemed to have frozen mussels on it, and the fish in the tacos was deep fried. The other dinners were ok. Service was great, chips and salsa were very good. There is a piano bar upstairs... More

Although I thought this was just a Cuban restaurant, it is actually a mix of cuban, puerto rican, and tex-mex food. The food was delicious, starting with the chips and salsa. I ordered Bistec Encebollado (steak) which was delicious! I ordered the ceviche to start, it was alright - I've had better. Nonetheless it was still a delicious eat! I... More

We stopped for Sunday brunch outside in the sun. 8th Street is great fun in good weather and we enjoyed the excellent food. However, the service was the slowest we've had in the whole month in DC. The waiter was pleasant and kept saying he would check on our food, but nothing helped. We had ordered the "bottomless" mimosas, so... More

The staff just incredible friendly they seem genuinely very happy to have us(G&Girlfriend) there. Ricardo our server, always managed to appear right when someone needed him. It's not expensive gourmet dining but the dishes were quality. Food was authentic nicely presented and delicious. Five starts was gained by the staff (Ricardo and Mike)

This was our first stop flying in for a 4 day weekend. We were told that the food was authentically cooked, and maybe it was but I wasn't wowed. The chips and salsa were tasty, but I found the chimichanga con carnita to be a bit salty. The Coquito shots were more cinnamon than anything else, and my daughter who... More

Having never tried traditional Cuban food, we decided to give this place a try as it was close to our apartment near the Eastern Markets. A very atmospheric restaurant with very lively staff, we started the evening with a Cuban cocktail, and then ordered our food. Complementary chips and dips were provided while we waited for our food. My wife... More

Went to this place my first night in DC. The food was great and would come back to get more. The restaurant gave you all the chips and salsa you want. However, I only sat on the outdoor patio. I went inside to check out the upstairs to the bar area and it was super packed with drunk guests of... More
