Primi Piatti has excellent fish and pasta choices for lunch and dinner. Also I recommend the veal chop. I have eaten here numerous times and found the meals consistently very good to excellent. The waiters have been very good and know the choices well and make very good suggestions.

I went to lunch with a friend and we both ordered a Fettucine al Nero: Black Ink Fettuccini with Crabmeat, Shrimp, Garlic, Olive Oil, Chili. The crabmeat is conceptual; the shrimps are 4 but the olive oil is plentiful. Double expresso and a bottle of sparkling water. No salad. No dessert. $40 per person with tip. A ripoff.

I recently had a nice lunch, sitting outside at Primi Piatti. Had the whole grilled branzino which was cooked well and filled me up. Seasoned waiters who did a good job. My only complaint about Primi Piatti is that it seems slightly too expensive for what you get--especially at lunch. Mid twenties - $30.

Saddened my heart that my experience went so poorly at this well rated and long standing establishment. Whoever the man was in the white shirt who seemed to be the Matre D of the moment was entirely rude by his nasty facial expression toward us when we kindly told him we would be ready to sit when he was ready... Good, authentic cuisine. This is not a chic restaurant. It's been around for years. Our pastas were great. My son loved his pizza. The portions are perfect. Started with bread and olive tepanade. If you've been to Italy, you know what to expect.

We had a wonderful dinner here on. Friday evening. Service was outstanding! We had calamari as an appetizer. Lightly breaded and delicious. My husband had black ink linguine with shrimp, which he said was delicious. I had branzini in a white wine sauce--also quite good. Coffee and dessert to finish off. Cannoli for my husband and chocolate hazelnut cake. Awesome.... More

A charming restaurant right on I street in DC. It was a warm evening and we sat at one of the street tables. The food was very good and the service even better.

The restaurant was right next to our hotel. We both ordered a special - one an excellent veal chop and the other a marvelous mushroom risotto finished by the chef at tableside. Gracious staff and atmosphere made for a truly lovely dining experience.

I was attracted to Primi Piatti because I had read many favorable reviews; it was located 150 fee from my hotel; and it has al fresco dining. The wait staff is attentive and friendly. The food is fresh and well prepared. This is a delightful Italian restaurant for al fresco dining. Pricing is reasonable. This restaurant is worth a visit!

Benn here several times, both business and friends, both large groups or just lunch for two. They were able to accommodate almost everything. Pasta ragu, tomato soup, branzino are my favorites. The service was always professional and the wine list comprehensive. Don't want to mention the desserts...
