Hotel recommended Martin's to us for an early casual supper after Sunday Mass. We were tired from a day of travel and were able to be seated quickly although the place was full at 7p. Cozy atmosphere, lots of wood, bartender was picture perfect. Shared Fried Oysters to start ~ serviceable ceasar salads, and great comfort food entrees for a... More

It was on the menu as jumbo lump crab cake on a potato bun. We substituted the zucchini and vegetables for the french fries, looked forward to the cole slaw since we've eaten here many times and noted that we'd been chucked in a far corner at a table with cracked polyurethane top to the table instead of one of... I am still getting over my Champagne Cocktail (Kenwood Champagne and Wild Hibiscus Flower) - it was SO good! Potato Skins were good too.

This is a really nice local tavern with a lot of local color. The Christmas decorations are really some of the best in the area. The bartender is really classy, drinks are good.

Great bar and eatery. In business since 1933 definately worth stopping in for a drink or dinner. Reservations recommended for dinner.

God restaurant with good food and service but too loud. Even in a "quiet booth" it's too loud. As they say if it's too loud, your too old. I guess we were too old.

We stopped in here after the walking ghost tour. What a great night! We were late (~9pm) so we were seated within a few minutes. The restaurant and bar were still rocking, fun vibrant atmosphere. The history was fascinating. Forget JFK and Nixon. There is a cool spot Truman frequented here - a true humble American hero. Food was solid-... More

Cozy, historic atmosphere. Great booths. Did Jack really propose to Jackie in that booth? DC politician and VIP hang out?

This was certainly the best food surprise of the trip. The ambience and history of the Tavern topped off the phenomenal food experience. My clam chowder was outstanding, prime sandwich perfect and the rest of the family equally loved their food. Sitting in booths where previous president's dine and even where Kennedy proposed just made it extra special. Highly recommend... More

The place is not large so we had to wait a while to get sited. Good selection of beers and wines. Has a bar with about 14 tables/booths and additional outdoor seating in season. Service was amazing, as we were seated, we were greeted by the owner who described the daily specials. Very charming gentleman. Later in the evening, his... More

At Martin's Tavern, every sitting president from Truman to G.W. Bush has dined. Ask your server to point out the booth where JFK proposed to Jackie.
