First, this place underwent a MAJOR renovation and change from OYA to BOE. The concept is a lodge in the middle of DC. The decor is tacky and a little dark at best. I am not sure if the new concept of this restaurant will make it. The food prices are dramatically cheaper than it's former name and the menu... More

Rushed meal, rushed service, they seem to overbook their tables. We had reservations but despite arriving early, the wait time was absurd and then once the food arrived it was quite clear we needed to hurry and eat since the table was booked out closely afterwards. Very loud atmosphere.

The restaurant has reopened as BOE. It's just down 9th St. from the convention center. The menu is gourmet / home cooking...a bit Southern but with an international twist. Entrees range from $15 to $24, with a few "for two" options at $40. The sharing plates are generous for a couple or a tasting for a party of four. The... More

This is one of my favorite restaurants in DC. The food, upscale decor and top notch service keeps me returning. They are always friendly and attentive. The restaurant is usually busy and the noise level is higher than I care for but that is to be expected in a place that is filled with happy customers. I enjoy their high... More

From the moment I walked in the wait staff was both friendly and attentive. Umberto, the bartender, was engaging, knowledgeable about the menu, and actually steered me to try dishes (eel and branzino) that I had never tried before. I let him order dessert for me. The food was delicious, nice portions, and well presented. The restaurant is due to... More

We've been on vacation from Texas for over 10 days and needed something different than steakhouses and pubs. This was a good change of food. We love sushi and really liked the sashimi platter (salmon, tuna & whitefish). The prices are a little high but kinda expect that for this area. Our teenaged son and nephew both liked the typhoon... This restaurant is a favorite and has been for some time, with a sumptuous interior, great food (sushi, small plates, and large plates, leaning heavily toward seafood), and fine service as ever. But it's about to close for a month, be renovated, and change its cuisine starting in September, so go soon. Meanwhile they've discounted their bottles of wine by... More

I was told to try the Branzino (Sea Bass) it was supposed to be exquisite--that was so NOT TRUE!! Started the meal with undercooked calamari that tasted like soap. Then the Brazino--it was definitely NOT Sea Bass and it also tasted like soap. Could the kitchen be washing these seafood items before preparing them? They were both disgusting!! I am... More

This is my favorite place to take clients or prospects. Great food, good service, nice ambiance and a reasonable price.
