Due to the unexpected hustle of the Capitol, we ended up not getting dinner until 11 at Busboys. Created in memory of Langston Hughes a poet once a busboy, this location is everything from a comfortable coffee shop/bookstore, to an affordable dish with a friend...More

We enjoyed our meal at Busboys and Poets. We chose vegan options. Slider appetizer, salad with blueberries and the vegan burger and fries. Seeing the table next to us get a huge plate of awesome looking nachos, we did regret our choices. Although the vegan...More

Went to Sunday brunch here while visiting my friend.Ordered the french toast and home fries...the food was decent. My favorite thing was the book store and the service. It does have a nice vibe and atmosphere.

I was staying at a nearby hotel and they recommended this restaurant. I was alone so I sat at the bar and had a very nice time. I started with a local DC draught and then had a really nice Spinach and Wheatberry salad. It...More

The service was great, met friends there in waves and the server never got upset, everyone liked what they order from vegan items to bacon cheese burger. Check it out if you are in the area to see a play at the signature theater.

We met a friend here who's a local, as it is one of her favorite places for brunch. We browsed in the bookstore while waiting for a table, which is a lovely way to kill time (and, yes, I ended up buying a book). The...More

Very good and friendly service but absolutely not our taste. The concept is really good but to cook organic food is not enough. I was not happy after I left.

This is a must go-to. It is huge. We spent about an hour just browsing the books. The food is unbelievably good. I had the nachos with chicken--the best nachos I have had. Service was great! The background music was really good. Diverse crowd. A...More

We went to the other DC Busboys and Poets and it was just as good as this one. This one is quieter and lower key than the one on 5th street. I had the vegan burger (because my daughter had it the night before). We...More

My husband had been following this restaurant on social media for a while so he decided since we were in the area, we should stop by and have a bit to eat. I was extremely impressed with the menu items, selection and service. We first...More

Grits may be but not sure about shrimp as they are served with a sauce that may contain flour. However they do have other GF choices.

Definitely call, but so many gluten free choices No on the reservations but wait was not horrible at 8:30 on a Friday night. Maybe 20 minutes. And you can get a drink at the bar or browser the books.
