This, my first trip to Alameda was a total surprise as I did not expect to discover a very nice community of restaurants and shopping to suit all tastes. Habanas, was the perfect place to celebrate a family member's birthday. The welcoming friendly staff could not have been more pleasant. Once crossing the portal from the sidewalk, be prepared to... Recommended by the owner of the house we were renting nearby we decided to give this a try. Good cocktails . Friendly, speedy service. Delicious food including tapas and salads and hot sandwiches. The children all enjoyed it and raved over the homemade fries. Good value.

My husband catches his own fish and takes it to Habanas and they prepare a great fish. The sides are amazing and it's plenty of food. The plantains and tostones are really good. Good for families, kids and large groups.

The food was good, the restaurant rather plain, music too loud, you can not visit with your friends unless you yell. Very busy, staff friendly but expensive for what you get $81 for 2 people and not fine dining

My son took my wife and I to this rather unpretentious restaurant in Alameda and we all loved it. The mango gazpacho was a great start, day boat scallops (5) were seared just right and served in a good sauce, my wifes halibut was fresh and cooked just right and the corn side was excellent. Only thing that got an... More

Quick, easy stop in for a cocktail before dinner as we saw the Happy Hour sign. A dozen different Mojitos to choose from - bartender was helpful & nice without being overly friendly. Place was practically empty at 5 PM though .... Didn't try any food but Mojitos were refreshing and tasty. Happy Hour was 3 - 6.

Despite the previous reviews might depict, the cuisine was hugely overpriced in conjunction with the quality of the food and service. The waitress/server was not knowledgeable of the menu or the ingredients in the dishes. That could've been acceptable if she was willing to inquire with someone more knowledgeable, the cooks/chefs, etc. My wife and I assumed that was obvious... More

We only stopped in for a small bite and a drink, so I can't comment on much of the menu, but what we had (beef empanadas and sangria) was really yummy. My husband and I ordered one red sangria and one white. The red was much better because they make the white fresh vs. letting the wine sit in the... More

Very good Cuban dishes with super fine service. The local fish of the day, that day was halibut, is always a reliable choice as well as the Cubano sandwiches.
