We went here for my mothers 75th birthday and we were treated like royalty. The service was exceptional! Our every need was catered to. The food was very good. They put us is a room by ourselves and it made the evening even more special for our family.

Only open a few days a week. Reservations are a must. Service is wonderful and the view of the ruins make it a wonderful location for a special occasion. Many of the ingredients are grown on the property. The most amazing bread board we have ever had with local cheese and marmalade.

What an elegant experience! The Rice House is quaint and charming. It's intimate environment offers warmth and coziness as you enjoy premium food and wine. The owner of the local vineyard told stories behind each selection of wine and explained why it was paired with the course. It was entertaining, and delicious to boot!

The ribeye steaks were dry, small and unexciting, my lamb was good but we had to beg the waiter to bring our food it took so long. They put 20% service on everything so I guess no one cares if you really get service. They really hope you get the 5 course meal but if you do not I think... More

The service was impeccable from being greeted by name at the door, throughout the meal and upon leaving. The food was very good and choice of a la carte or 3 or 4 course meal. Slightly limited menu choice because of this. Restaurant was quaint. The prices were reasonable as an upscale restaurant. Would strongly recommend.

Definitely one of the best meals I've ever eaten and perfect for a romantic evening. Just the building itself provided the perfect quaint, romantic atmosphere for our dinner. Everyone who was working that night treated us like royalty from the time we walked in until we left. We chose to do the 3 course meal from the pre-selected menu. Each... More

Great ambience. Very eclectic 4 course menu. We didn't eat here, as the menus was heavy with seafood and game/fowl - none of which my picky eating wife will have. Sigh. (I thought the menu rocked, but for familial peace we went elsewhere - you know "if mama ain't happy, nobody's happy"). Sat at the bar and had drinks with... More

We had to go here one night to check it out. The atmosphere seemed casual except for the white table cloths and well-dressed/trained servers. You know it's classy dining when the prices aren't on the menu, and really it doesn't matter. The food was really good and was the typical small portions. Great service from the staff. Really good service.... More

Great food and excellent service from the waitstaff. The executive chef came up with an amazing menu. Definitely a culinary experience.

The 19th century farmhouse, now known as the Rice House restaurant, serves as the historical cornerstone on the north lawn of the resort. Meticulously dismantled on the original Rice Plantation in nearby Rome, Georgia before it was carefully relocated and resurrected at Barnsley Resort, our culinary team pays homage to the home's Southern heritage. Our chefs rely on locally farm-grazed cattle and garden-grown produce (inquire about what is grown here at the resort) as well as taking inspiration from what is in the moment and unexpected in his interpretation of modern farmhouse cuisine.

The Sun Porch and two small private dining rooms are perfect for guests wishing to entertain friends or colleagues.
