This restaurant is highly rated for a reason. It’s location is so magnificent. It’s located in the beach with a beautiful view of the ocean. The ambience is peaceful and romantic. You can sit here all night and enjoying the view. The service is impeccable. Water is always poured and they do take their time to make sure you’re attended to.
As for the food, it’s not the best food I had on the island. The paella was their signature dish and it was good. The meatballs were great as well. They offered a ribeye steak which was more like an 6 or 8oz NY steak. I asked for medium rare but it came out to be well done. I can’t blame the restaurant for the steak because it’s like me going to a burger joint and ordering kungpao chicken. Just don’t order the steak and you’ll be fine.
Overall, I think it’s an excellent restaurant, especially if you want the ambience, service and view.

Our family (teen boys 19/16) loved Aji's food and friendly service! Beautiful setting on the beach or in the bar with live music. It was a wonderful dining experience each time. On Saturday they offer 1/2 price appetizers and 1/2 off bottles of wine. Their fresh fish specials did not disappoint but my favorite was their Paella!! Well worth the extra time it takes to prepare, relax with a drink and an app until it is ready. Delicious!! Make it a point to eat at Aji's on your trip to Ambergris Caye.

We stayed at the Grand Caribe, which luckily put us within walking distance of Aji. We ate there several times and enjoyed every meal. Beautiful setting on the beach with palm trees and lights, music several nights a week, and the food was delicious. Service was outstanding -- I joked with my husband that the servers did not seem to be on "island time" because some of them literally jogged from their tables back to the bar or kitchen! Everyone was very friendly and happy to help each other out with their tables, which meant it was easy to flag someone as they went by if you needed anything at all. Make a reservation if you want to go for dinner. You can walk to/from Aji from Grande Caribe along the beach if you want, but we didn't try it at night because I was using a cane. Not sure how easy it would be to see where you were going at night.

We where a bit disappointed with our evening dining experience at Aji, As much as Aji has a beautiful ocean setting under a lovely canopy of tropic trees the Saturday eve special of 1/2 price wine and tapas are quite misleading. The tapas servings are sparse and too slight to be shared by two, and still very pricey. The 1/2 price wine is only if you buy a bottle and then still over priced by other comparisons. The curry was very salty, and rice dishes nothing spectacular. The salad was lovely but was served pre tossed with way too much lime for our liking. Maybe lunch a better choice when visiting?

This restaurant is amazing we had chicken cordon Belieze and Paola. Two piña colada‘s and two purple frozen some things that were amazing as well! Pablo was so sweet and very accommodating service was great the appetizers held us over until our meal came. Very happy with their service

We actually stayed here at Bella Vista for 8 days. During our stay, we ate at many different restaurants and the best dinner we had was here. Their chef is excellent. One of their best qualities is the ability to be flexible from the menu. One morning during breakfast at Aji one of the resort employees told us "This morning one of the boats we buy our fish from sold us some fresh grouper and it will be available tonight for dinner" so we made a reservation. My wife and I agreed it was among the best dinners we've ever had. and it wasn't even on the menu! They cooked us a huge plate of grouper cooked with shrimp in a light cream sauce and served with coconut rice and mixed vegetables. Wow, so delicious! I also had the shrimp paella with Spanish rice in a red sauce, very good and huge. We also ate breakfast there every day which was included with our stay. Everything fresh and large portions. During our stay we ate here more than anywhere else and the food was always great.

Aji's was conveniently located on our resort property, where we were ensconced for two weeks. So, it was a short walk from our suite to enjoy a great breakfast and delicious dinners, all with superb service.
While the breakfast menu never changed, there was enough variety to make the mornings enjoyable. Choose from an omelet, huevos rancheros, breakfast burrito, French toast, and more. The only item we didn't care for was the local favorite Fry Jacks, deep-fried tortillas.
The dinners were phenomenal! The seafood is always fresh (we saw it being delivered by the fishermen every morning). The Camarones Diablos, grilled shrimp simmered in a tomato sauce, looked as good as it tasted. And the key lime pie was among the best we've had anywhere, including Key West.
If you're planning a trip to Ambergris Caye, Aji's should be on your list of places to enjoy.

Every trip to Ambergris Caye we make a point of making a reservation at Aji. Incredible food and ambiance. The paella is a MUST! The chef special is always awesome no matter what it is. Great service too.

Our family of 5 stopped in for dinner on our last night on AC. We had sort of looked at reviews and knew we would likely have a pleasant meal but we ended up completely blown away by the setting, food, and service. I chuckled when they asked if we had a reservation - there was only one table occupied when we arrived. But it turned out we were just lucky to beat the rush because by the time we left not an open table could be found. We had stuffed grouper, ceviche, calamari, chicken piccata, and a couple other dishes I can't recall. Every dish was outstanding. As an afterthought we ordered one slice of coconut pie - I had never tasted such fresh, flavorful, and warm from the oven pie! We had to order a second slice. So glad we stopped in, between the beachfront dining, the food, and the high-level service this was the best meal we had during our stay.

Great breakfast and wonderful friendly service. Small outdoor restaurant right on beach north of San Pedro. Linda, our waitress, took care of us! They also serve lunch and dinner and will cook your fresh caught fish if you bring it to them. Small pool on site so you can order drinks at happy hour and cool off in their pool. If you go for breakfast, make sure to try the fry jacks. They are delicious. Will go back.

This restaurant was our favorite dining experience in Belize. For starters, Pablo is the kindest and most welcoming waiter. He went above and beyond for us. With our one year old daughter with us, he made sure she got her food first so we could all enjoy our meal!
Second, everything we ate here for dinner was phenomenal. We ended up coming back a second time as we couldn’t get over how tasty everything was. We had the signature dish - paella mixta, shrimp scampi (special), chicken cordon Belize, and the filet mignon. I’m not sure what was the best entree. Too hard to choose!
The ambience is so beautiful with the hanging lights, tree canopy, and ocean view.
You don’t want to miss this spot! It was hands down the best restaurant on Ambergris Caye for us. If you like great service and great food, you won’t be disappointed.

We had a wonderful dinner here six years ago and wanted to come back. It was even better than we remembered it! Such a serene and lovely outdoor setting! We started with sangria (yum) and a margarita and then had lobster bites as an appetizer before sharing the seafood Paella. Everything was excellent! Juan Pablo was a great server! We shared a piece of key lime pie and it was delicious. The atmosphere was wonderful with live music—saxophone—which was so enjoyable. We will return again!

We chose this restaurant as it was near to where we were staying. We saw it had good reviews, and deservedly so ! PLUS, we saw they had paella on the menu. The appetizers were very good, which included lobster, and the paella was as well. We later found out that a regular at our resort eats at this restaurant at least twice during her stay. The owner came out and talked to us for a while. Great service !
Really great atmosphere as well ! I would go back on my next visit to the island !

We attended this restaurant for our 20th anniversary dinner and the staff set up a beautiful table with lights and candles away from the rest of the diners. The location is stunning as it is on the water and has trees and foliage acting as the roof. The food was great. My husband had the snapper and it was extremely fresh and spiced perfectly. We met the owner who gave us complimentary sparkling wine and they sent us a piece of key lime pie for dessert. We weren't going to eat it because we were so full from dinner but I'm glad we did because it was delicious. We will defintely come here again when we visit Ambergris Caye.

We had an anniversary dinner at Aji. If you are celebrating anything, please coordinate this experience with them. It was the highlight of our trip. It was gorgeous, so special, and completely affordable for everything we got. It was also the best lobster and seafood we had all week on the island. Pablo is so genuinely funny and a talented server. This was a surprise for my husband and it was put together beautifully. They even had a contingent setup under cover in case of rain but thankfully, the weather held up for us to have our whole meal on the beach. There was no charge to set all of this up (I literally have spent $150 for something very similar in Costa Rica) and with a glass of wine, lobster, fish special, and 10% off as a guest of Pur, this meal was the best $85 we have ever spent—no way will we ever have this nice of an experience for that price ever again! Highly, highly recommend!
