The location right next to the port is nice and the large roof helped us during the heavy thunderstorm at diner time. Food is good and service well present.
One of the best meals I have had in 7 years of extensive travel in Central America. I had the shrimp in garlic. Came with rice and beans with coconut flavor, flavorful sauteed veggies and bread. And chips with salsa and beans. Very nice waitress....Great view of the water. I will be back to try their shrimp tacos.More
We really enjoyed the experience at this restaurant. First, we had a cooking demonstration on how to make a seafood soup, After that, we put seasoning on our fish and wrapped them up in leaves. The cooks then finished cooking the meal and brought everything...to the table. Everything was delicious. The view of the water was great.More
While in Livingston we had a nice waterfront dinner at Buga Mama. Service was excellent and each of the meals had large portions and cooked nicely. The young people working here are all locals and have been trained in the hospitality business. It was nice...to support them.More
Top adress great food and top service Enjoyed it to the fullest Perfect setting and sunset Not too miss
We enjoyed a wonderful meal at this restaurant. The Thai options are particularly recommended. Good service and a great setting ensured that we returned for another meal the following day.
This restaurant employs young local people and trains them for a career in hospitality. Not only is this a worthwhile cause the food, service and location makes this restaurant worth a visit.
Nice location by the public dock, so plenty of activity on the water to watch while dining. We stopped by for lunch. The menu offerings were varied. The restaurant is associated with a local school that educates Mayan students and is run by students. The...service was good and they obviously take pride in performance. Unfortunately, one meal was lukewarm. Generally, the meals were okay without being exceptional. Worth the visit if in Livingston to support a great concept, but don't expect miracles with the food.More
We had a lovely evening in the restaurant. De location is beautiful. We had a kind and lovely waiter Domingo. He helpt us really good in a friendly way. The food was really good. We both had fish.
Very nice terrace and good smoothies. The terrace is next to the water with a nice breeze to cool off compared to the other places in livingston. So nice place to cool down
This restaurant is linked to the Ak'Tenamit organisation an NGO that supports, among other things, education among Mayan people. In this restaurant all staff are young Guatemalan girls and boys learning to cook and run a restaurant; they are all very professional (and serious!), very...polite and competent. The food is of a very high quality. We have been several times and all the times we enjoyed an excellent meal. The menu has great choice for vegetarians, possibly the best in Livingston: the aubergine sandwich, stir fry vegetables with rice and the pasta primavera were all cooked to perfection and very tasty. And the place itself is lovely, located by the docks, right over the water where you can see the busy lanchas docking and leaving and plenty of birds. I highly recommend it. And all the proceeds go to help Mayans.More
Wonderful food and excellent service provided by students and graduates of Ak Tenemit school. Ate there 5 nights in a row and tried shrimp, beef, fish tacos a burger, and fajitas. All well prepared and delicious. The fried plantains, calamari and vegetables were awesome as...well. Nice cocktails and Chilean Cabernet as well.More
This restaurant is actually a restaurant school where indigenous young people are trained as waiters/waitresses and chef in order to upgrade their education and life level. It has been a great experience. The service was perfect. The food was delicious. I had the ceviche which...was one of the best I had in South & Central America. My wife had the shrimps in a garlic sausage. Just great for a an excellent value for money. I strongly recommend this place for the food, for the kindness and the happiness of the staff + the support for a fantastic educational initiative. Also the place is very nice with a terrace with a view on the harbour.More
Stopped for food on boat trip from Rio dulce. Best place we've been to in 4 weeks we've been travelling through central America The Tapado is a fish soup and coconut local delicacy and was excellent, v reasonably priced full of fish crabs + squid....Fish tacos also great. Lovely view over the water. Not that would be needed to make me go again but the restaurants profits go to education in the local community and the staff are mostly youngsters recently trained in association with the restaurant. They were also great. Oh and they accept card 👍More
