By my standards this is a splurge, but for $20 USD you can get a top quality meal with a glass of wine and sometimes there is a quiet jazz band playing in the background. Don't expect French Laundry table service but the food is very good and the service is quite nice. For me Royal Paris is an affordable... More

Went there as part of a hiking group. Quetzaltenango being a cold place in December, it was nice to face a menu packed with comfort food options, although the vegetarians in the group (of which I am) were a little left out. Still: the vegetarian lasagna was piping hot and a generous size, with rich flavors and plenty veggies. We... More

We've been there on several occasions now. The first time we just had drinks and the cheese plate. This was quite good. The second time we went we had the special, a fish dish. This was delicious. If you go I would recommend getting the special. I would also recommend the place for wine lovers. This restaurant is a little... More

This is one of the best kept secrets of Quetzaltenango. It is, in my humble opinion, one of the best french restaurants in Central America. With very few tables, and an unfortunate lack of space, Royal Paris compensates these shortcomings with a superb cuisine and excelent flavors. You won't regret.

We had 2 wonderful dinners at Royal Paris, the food is excellent, the chef is an authentic French woman of experience that knows her business, considering that it is not easy to find the French fresh ingredients in this country, it's even more admirable! The meet is exquisite, desserts are divine such as Profiteroles or crepes Suzette! Service is also... More

As a medical team with limited time at the end of a long day, I was pleasantly surprised at the great service and quick meal delivery. All of our group of 14 were very happy with the food. We ordered multiple desserts and loved them all.

My husband and I were looking for a restaurant to have dinner on the New Year's eve. I'm French and I usually don't eat at French restaurant abroad but many places were closed and we decided to give a try to Royal Paris. The French chef (can't remember her name...) welcomed us and gave the details of the New Year... More

We visited as a British family of 4 adults. We love french (in fact all!) food and this did not disappoint. Superb food - every dish that came out was fantastic. Baked Camembert, beef carpaccio and especially the mussels all fab starters. Fish stew, prawns in whisky and pepper sauce, and the pepper steak all fantastic (no need to pay... More

I had an excellent meal here with colleagues in November 2014. The dishes were extraordinarily good - I had prawns in a whisky cream sauce, which were stunning! The chef was friendly and her suggestions were greatly appreciated. Lovely ambience and a memorable meal.
