This place is unique....it has a history of family ownership dating around 100+ years; it is on high ground a bit out of the city; they serve only a set menu each night and it is a bit pricey. But a worthwhile dining experience for the ambience alone.

The Hacienda is a couple of miles outside town ( we took a tuk tuk there but walked back). Its a beautiful location overlooking the river and valley with the Copan ruins visible on the road down from the Hacienda as well as further ruins ( Los Sapos) a short hike from the Hacienda. The Hacienda offers excellent food and... More

This place is consistently good. I love the old colonial look. The food is more typical but excellent. Our group raved about it.

Absolutely stunning, simple, inspiring place, with wonderful service. The birds in the gdn and the cats in the trees all added to the ambience around the old building, which had so thoughtfully been put to use as this Hacienda. Well worth the lovely walk from Copan town.

One of the worst experiences I have had. Me and some friends were brought to the hotel bar on a horseback ride and were told we could have a drink there if we please. When we looked at the overpriced menu (apx. $10USD per beer) we declined. She then forced us to purchase at least one drink per person saying... More

Ecofriendly hotel situated in a house that was built over 100 years ago. Absolutely beautiful, charming and romantic! Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Nice to visit for lunch or dinner, but requires previous reservation. Offers beautiful view of Copan!

I only visited this place for a few minutes, as I was seeking a place to walk from town and this place was suggested. It's a lovely walk along the river to/from town, and quite safe (at least during the day). The hacienda is up on a hill and the setting and views are beautiful. The grounds are gorgeous, and... The owners of the Hacienda have done a marvelous job at keeping this century old place impecable. We were told to use tuk tuk to get there because the access is a dirt road but we were able to get there in our mini van. Ask for their tamales and encurtido!

We had a dinner organized one night at San Lucas and it was an excellent experience with amazing food. A little bit out of the way for staying the night though.

Beautiful hacienda experience overviewing Copan lights and the Mayan Ruins behind the Copan River. The music you hear are the crickets and the water running down stream. It is ideal for a romantic dinner or a family dinner without children. I cant say enough of the decoration of the restaurant and the hospitality of its staff. The menu was incredible,... More
