Run by great folks with a flare for food. There is always something special prepared from fresh local produce.

Thanks for joining us and taking the time to review! Tapas shared with the table is our favorite way to dine.

We came here, during an evacuation (from Hurricane Irma) road trip through Georgia, with some devoted local patrons who dine here frequently and raved about the food. Upon reviewing the menu, we were a bit nonplussed about what all the fuss was about. We found...More

A great meal with friends in Athens: I took the roasted mahi mahi which was deliciously flavoured and beautifully textured. Great atmosphere and attentive service.

A little noisy but the food was good as was the wine. Limited menu but seemed to be a local favorite.

Fairly small dining room and the size of portions made it even smaller. Huge sumptuous dishes all around. We started with their amazing hummus and chips. One of our party chose the chicken salad, to which another confessed he should have made that selection. However,...More

We visit Athens several times a year as my daughter attends UGA. Hands down our favorite spot for dinner. All our meals were great once again. I can't say enough goid things.

The best thing about Athens - we get to meet the newest Athenians and their families every year! We'll hope you'll stay a regular for four years and beyond.

Happened to be in the area during lunch time - seemed right up my sister's and my alley (and it is right across street from Creature Comforts Brewery). Delicious flavors with different kinds of mixes of the foods on the menu.

Date night/Birthday dinner. We put on our affluent middle class uniforms (we are at the age where wearing socks is a fashion statement), and headed for The National. Previously we had made reservations using their on-line service, and it worked perfectly. When we arrived, they...More

Open for lunch Monday - Saturday and dinner daily; our bar also remains open for coffee and tapas during the day 2:30 - 5pm. The idea behind The National is simple: to provide a casual neighborhood gathering spot reminiscent of the bars and cafés we’ve enjoyed on travels to Europe. Mediterranean inspired food and wine is served for lunch and dinner in the dining room and throughout the day at the bar. While our menu points to culinary traditions from abroad, we value our local farmers and our dishes reflect the changing seasons in Northeast Georgia.
