This place consistently has the best food in Athens. The menu is always changing to reflect the current local produce they use. I have never had a bad meal here. The service is top notch.

We had dinner here after sister-in-laws graduation. Menu constantly changes based on current fresh foods, resulting in unique offerings. It's kind of a Mediterranean inspired fusion. Presentation, flavor and service was very good. There is no parking onsite so it can be bit challenging on...More

We ate take-out two nights in a row then ate at the restaurant the third night. Wonderful food! Definitely recommend the vegetarian plate and the chicken plate. Consistently good. A bit pricey but worth the splurge.

We get to Athens once or twice a year. We have had good restaurant experience. We especially like Five and Ten. This place was in that league. Nice place, attractive, not crowded, not noisy. And the food was fresh and flavorful

The staff is very knowledgeable, every question answered. Even when we asked the bus person, she went and found the answer. The menu changes a lot, which I really like. Very creative without being ridiculous. While you may not love everything, there is something that...More

The National is our go-to for a date night or hosting friends in town. Peter Dale does fresh, innovative Mediterranean with Southern favorites from local farms. The hanger steak is always on point but the veggie plate is my favorite. The Power Lunch plate is...More

Hi Mike! We do not have private parking. There is street parking available and decks downtown on Washington Street and College Ave. We don't have a dress code!

We do take reservations! You can call 706-549-3450 or email us. We don't require reservations, but we do recommend making them as our restaurant is small and tends to fill up quickly when it gets busy. However we always... More

Description
Open for lunch Monday - Saturday and dinner daily; our bar also remains open for coffee and tapas during the day 2:30 - 5pm.

The idea behind The National is simple: to provide a casual neighborhood gathering spot reminiscent of the bars and cafés we’ve enjoyed on travels to Europe. Mediterranean inspired food and wine is served for lunch and dinner in the dining room and throughout the day at the bar. While our menu points to culinary traditions from abroad, we value our local farmers and our dishes reflect the changing seasons in Northeast Georgia.
