The exterior of this restaurant may be a little off putting as it does not have much curb appeal. The food & service on the interior more than make up for the lack of curb appeal. We wanted to try something different in the area and decide to give Food for the Soul a try. We had the buffet because... More

The Mac & Cheese is to die for! Choice of all you can eat or choose a meat and 3/2. All this with drink and dessert for under $12.

This is a great hidden gem in town. I stopped in for lunch and they have several options. You can order a meat and sides meal or you can do the all you can eat buffet. Everything was delicious and fresh. Definitely some of the best soul food in town.

Best soul food in Athens, GA. The fried chicken is amazing as is the macaroni and cheese. Actually, everything is good here. I only eat here about four times a year because I don't want to weigh 500 pounds. This place is worth a visit!!

Stopped in on a whim as I saw this place out of the corner of my eye while driving by. Didn't know what to expect. It's a dive place. Which is what I'd kinda want in good southern cooking. I stopped in on a weekday afternoon around lunch time. Place is pretty spacious but not a lot of customers when... More

Good Southern Food at a great price! You can sit in and have an all you can eat buffet, or you can order a plate to go. Either way, the food and prices are great!

6 meats, 12 veggies, light salad bar. This spot is the best. Bertha and her family have the magic touch and deliver it consistently. Baked chicken, collards, & macaroni is your best bet but hard to go wrong. Closed by 4:30/5pm and Mondays & Saturdays. $7 plate - $11 buffet

Nothing fancy from the outside. Parking next door is good. Simple menu one meat with 2 sides or Buffett on Sunday lunch. Very reasonable price. Selection is excellent including friend fish, fried chicken, friend pork chop, BBQ ribs. Plenty of side dishes to choose from. Lemonade is refreshing. Down to earth and simple food. Casual for sure.

Delicious tea, fresh buffet, chicken strips so juicy with lucious breadinf & steak so tender I'm cutting it with a fork. Wow! And clean & friendly workers too! How can Athens not know about this awesome place??? I will be back... More
