The foodds was good with good service all in a very nice atmosphere. We had an appetizer with beets & we devoured it - even those that don't like beets.

My wife and I lived in Ames until 2014 and just stopped in for brunch! It still remains a great establishment for any meal of the day. The menu is always something new and the quality of food and atmosphere is just great. We were happy to wait only 20 mins for a table! I had the Monte Cristo and... More
New Years Eve, Went early, No wait. Server was very good. Food was not the usual high quality we have had before. Reuben was almost uneatable. Bread was bone hard and sandwich was very spicy hot. Will go again, but hope meal is better. Desert was wonderful.
Our first time eating here after a Cyclone game, and it was one of the best meals I've had in a LONG time. Loved the ambience, staff was friendly and attentive, I don't think I could find one complaint. The salmon was probably the best I've had, and I wish I'd had a spatula to clean the tiramisu bowl clean!... More
We visited The Cafe for brunch and thoroughly enjoyed the unique menu of this restaurant located in what feels like a little town in a Walt Disney movie. Good food in a nice comfortable restaurant. The part of Ames this is located in is "cute" and worth just driving around to enjoy the ambience.
I have visited the Cafe many times and have never been disappointed in my meal. They have a menu that changes often with fresh foods that are seasonal and well prepared. They can be crowded but I have never waited more than 15 minutes for a table and it is worth the wait. Enjoy!
We arrived about 1:00 pm on a week day, were told a 20 min. wait which actually was 10 and it was so worth any wait. Shelby was our friendly and attentive server. I had a wonderful Reuben sandwich and chips, $11.95 that were just delightful, warm, crispy and just enough salt. Probably house-made. My friend had a sweet Italian... More
The food is all homemade and locally grown. If you can stand the wait when you arrive, the food and service are worth it. The menu is different every week so check the website ahead of time for their weekly features. When our children come to visit this is the go to for weekend brunch and is always a treat... More
Arrive early if you don't want to wait, even on a week night. Our server was friendly, quite knowledgeable and ready with recommendations. Great selection of beverages and a varied menu. My dining companion had one of the evening's specials--braised short rib sandwich served with steak fries. My fire-roasted spaghetti squash topped with mushroom/tomato/cheese was delicious (though could have been... More
