been twice. First time very good, all reliable. Second time, prawns were too greasy and the meat was not as good. So would still go again but would like it to rebound

The food is ok, only I was disappointed to see how alcohol is freely served to Anybody, as we were not in a good muslim country. l suggest to at least reserve an alcohol free zone for whom does not like to dine With drunk tourists.

Just moments away from where we were staying, the ST Hotel, is Le Bearnais. We found it using Google maps and the only sign that it was open was a lit neon sign bearing the name. There was a closed door and blacked out windows. A passing man showed us the doorbell and moments later, we were let in by... More

An excellent place with good service! Foods are delicious and a rare place which is serving alcohol. Its not so easy to find it, location is ok but you can not even imagine that the door would be opening to this place. Door was closed without any window, there was a door bell ;) A small wine and a very... More

Le Bearnais is a trademark restaurant of the city center located in a popular street. Doesn't look much from the outside but once the door opens, you are in a very cozy French type restaurant on a split-level. Held by the same family since 30 years, it offers Mediterranean food including some Algerian dishes but mostly French flare. The fish... More

Offcourse I would recomend this restaurant. The owner is a good friend and by far is one the most gentil person in Algiers restaurants. Me and my Portuguese friends we go very often. Clean bathroons, good environment, classy and modern at same time. Excellent food and the menu is always changing. Prices are high but worth every Dinar. Ypu cam... More

Had a business dinner, good restaurant, excellent service, offer good fish, which seems to be hard to find in Alger. Offer beer and local wine and a fantastic chocolate coulant. My only criticism is that they allow smoking anywhere and for those who dont want to share a good fish with a cigarrette, is a shame, However, this seems to... More

The Béarnais (as it should be spelt!) is situated right in the town centre just off the main drag. The cuisine is clearly French at heart, but with many Algerian touches - or maybe it is Algerian with French touches! For instance, I have never eaten Duck with Honey in France. Therre is quite a "happening" feel to the Béarnais... More
