Cute cafe in a main market square that is perfect for people watching. Nice menu, but the real attraction is the location. Great views for photography from the rooftop.

because it is so central we stopped there many times to have a coffee and relax. The have proper espresso coffee, you won't be disappointed. Once we stayed for lunch and I have to say food also was very good. They even give you straw hats if you want to sit outside and the sun is too hot. Only downside:... More

Love this little cafe. Especially for their chicken tangine with preserved lemons and olives. SO FLAVORFUL. Also, their Harira soup was excellent. On top of that it has a great roof top terrace overlooking the spice market. The waiters are friendly -and remembered us when we came back.

Food was good and sandwiches great, but flies/ insects everywhere and had to change water twice before covering the glasses. Good vibe, young crowd. Casual atmosphere.

We went to Cafe Des Epices for dinner and had a good experience. The food is good and the prices are ok. The staff was friendly and the location is also nice. Especially the view onto the little market in front of the Restaurant. I can recommend this place :)

Our first hour in Marrakech we were hungry! The Cafe was just PERFECT, almost so perfect that we skipped it, thinking it was a tourist trap. The food was good. Not necessarily spectacular, but solid good food... And authentic. Amazing patio and view right on the square of spices.

Staff very friendly and great place to sit and watch the world go by off the main Medina but still full of character. Only stopped off for a juice which was lovely and fresh, there was a great roof terrace but to sit on the main area off the square, spices being ground, haggling going on and listening to sites... A good cafe with a relaxing atmosphere on their roof terrace. Fantastic view over the market. Had a delicious vegetarian sandwich. Fantastic lunch. That's a must to come by this cafe if you visit marrakech.

Description
In the heart of the Medina and Souks of Marrakech lies the Rahba Kedima spice square, where old women gather to pound henna for traditional tattoos and sell hand knitted hats, while seasoned vendors run the surrounding spice stores.
Within this setting is the now famed Cafe des Epices, the perfect meeting place and rest stop from the heat and commotion of the souks. The inexpensive menu is focused on the simple and fresh, offering teas and coffee, freshly made juices, sandwiches, salads and crepes. The design is correspondingly simple: deliberately paired down and basic in order to offer a peaceful resting place after the visual overload of the Souks.
Built over 3 floors, the top terrace offers great views over the square and surrounding Medina, the non-smoking 2nd floor salon is a great place to lounge and the ground floor and outdoor tables are fantastic places from which to watch the colourful comings and goings of the spice square market.

Open daily from 9am to 10pm
