This venue is not cheap but delivers one of the great meals in Dar. Located within the 5 star Kilamanjaro hotel the menu has a wide range of Japanese and Thai meals and a reasonable sushi offering as well. Service is good but not overbearing. The portions are more than reasonable and well cooked. We had salmon sushini as a... More

I went with a mixture - vegetable tempura to start, and a pad thai with tofu. And a bottle of Ndovu followed by a few glasses of South African sauvignon blanc. The food was excellent, perhaps the pad thai was a little less spicy than I'm used to, but very good nonetheless. The tempura was first rate. Perhaps because it's... More

I don't often eat in hotel restaurants as I prefer to seek out Trip Adviser recommended restaurants in the locality. But after a long flight and seeing such good reviews I went for the easy option and was not disappointed Very quiet initially ( at 8pm) but got a bit busier. Sushi was good and red and green curries full... More

In Dar es Salaam and wanna have Sushi? This is the place to go to hands down, they have no competition when it comes to makkis and sashimis. Haven't tried rest of the menu but other Chinese items are pretty average. Be ready to dig deep into your wallet when visiting this joint, slightly expensive for Tanzanian standards but they... I am here in TAnzania on business and dining solo, never particularly appealing. However the food and service here changed that. Very good range of wines, I picked an excellent red from Paarl, South Africa. I ate a delicious crispy Mongolian lamb dish with jasmine rice. It was better than anything comparable I have tried in the UK. Very impressed.

What a treat to have dinner here. For TS 66000 a full buffet was served and no preparation was spared. Seafood was available in abundance. Don't miss it if you are visiting Dar and feel like spoiling yourself.

I liked the food and service but I think that 50 USD for a main course and half a bottle of the cheapest whine is too much (for Tanzania). But still worth going there if you're not short of money.

Stayed at the Kilimanjaro and ate at the Oriental after a long lacklustre culinary trip in Tanzania. Tom yum soup was very good, but the duck curry just didn't quite hit the mark. Maybe they are trying to do too much in the way of Asian fusion and should just stick to one region and specialise. However I have to... More
