I can't believe I would actually enjoy an Ethiopian till I got to Simret - A Taste of Ethiopian Restaurant. I went for two rounds and I was so full that I just slept off when I got home. I advice every family to come...to this Restaurant because it is a very family friendly restaurant. The host is very hospitable and respectful and the staffs are the best.More

I'm new to Accra and have been discovering a few nice restaurants around town. My favorite by far is Simret - The taste of Ethiopia. They have a buffet with great meat and vegan dishes. I go every week and sometimes order take out for...the weekend. If you are in Accra and looking for tasty food then definitely try Simret.More

Always has all the basics (doro wot, tibs, alicha and all the other veggie dishes) but no kitfo or tej. Great flavor, but not spicy (hot) enough for those who have been to Ethiopia.More

Thank you for your comment which gives us an opportunity to explain some of the decisions we made when we established Simret. We are aware that many people love Kitfor which is spiced raw meat. Although we source our supplies from leading supermarkets we did...More

My wife, two children and I dined at Simret a few nights ago for the first time (having seen their ratings on trip advisor). Every aspect of our experience was delightful. The Ethiopian cuisine was authentic, flavourful, and filling. Our waiter was very friendly, professional...and attentive. What we enjoyed most, besides the food was the interesting conversation we had with the proprietor, whom shared the story of the beautiful union that led Simret being named for her daughter. Simret is an Ethiopian home from home.More

The food at Simret is excellent. Service was outstanding and we had a lovely conversation with the owner. The only negative was that the restaurant was a bit quiet, maybe because coronavirus was just kicking off but I’d encourage everyone to visit this very good...restaurant.More

Thank you. The restaurant is maintaining social distancing but some of our regulars who were in fear of COVID are now gingerly taking their first steps into the restaurant experience

The food at Simret is so good we ate here twice during a one week stay in Accra. The owner and staff are very welcoming and make the experience special. All of the dishes were delicious and the chocolate cake and coffee are out of...this world. I would highly recommend Simret.More

The best restaurant in Accra... possibly in Ghana... as we travel a lot and live to eat in a great range of places, we were excited to spend a week in Ghana to sample the well known west African dishes. While a good number of...them were tasty enough (red red, lamb with peppers) we found this Ethiopian restaurant. It is simply amazing. Small (intimate?) and nicely decorated, the welcome and the ambience is fantastic. The food, all freshly prepared and locally sourced, it absolutely world-class. Each dish, selected from a classic buffet with specially made earthenware pots, was a delight, all different flavours and textures. We’ve eaten all of our meals out and this place is so good we are going back again. Nothing else in Accra compares. This is a gem, and is now among my “favourite places on earth” to eat!More

The restaurant has for the past year struggled valiantly to absorb the increasing cost of its inputs. Regrettably, it can do so no longer. Therefore with effect from 9 June 2015 the fixed fee for a buffet will be Ghc 65.00... More
