The selection of cuisine is wide enough to please most tastes. i enjoyed the Ugandan staple of matoke (boiled bananas) and matumbo (cow offals) and the traditional chicken. Yummy!

Very nice , modern setting in the hotel. The pond in the courtyard has frogs that sing after the sun sets, a lovely backdrop we had grilled tilapia which was done beautifully. Limited wine list.

We were looking forward to a special meal in Kampala and were very disappointed with the food and the restaurant setting itself. Because of 2 large groups they put us in a corner of the restaurant but the table was underneath a very bright light in the ceiling which we complained about but nothing was done about it. I didn't... More

For a restaurant the pitches itself at the top end of Kampalas' dining experience we had expected a better than average family night out. One of our waiters took to dropping cutlery on the table as he set up for dessert, perhaps we were keeping him from an urgent appointment. the food was so so, my mushroom and pumpkin risotto... Rehan- Grade 7 To finish off a long day of celebrating my sister’s birthday perfectly we had to go to the Pearl of Africa in the Serena Hotel for amazing tasting food, great service and the spectacular ambience. As the waiter took us to our table we heard the piano player playing Chariots of Fire, one of my mum’s favourite... More

Being not the biggest fan of hotel chains (professional disease can't help it, stayed in them too much) I was pleasantly surprised by the Lakes hotel @the Serena Kampala. The menu (lunch) offered both a buffet option (60K Shilling) and a generous variety of à la carte dishes ranging from sandwiches to your classic salads but also Indian curries and... More

I've been here many times now. Still think that its the best restaurant in Kampala. This time I went with my girlfriend. It was very romantic. The service was good. We didn't wait long for the food. Wine was perfect! Was served an extra dish, compliments of the chef. Price is not at all bad - about 25-50.000 shilling for... More
