My companion and I were very hungry and fought our way through traffic to go to Centenary Park, which has several restaurants we like. On a lark we decided on Effendy's which used to be a popular restaurant/bar. When I walked in at 8:30 on a Friday night there was only one other occupied table. I should have kept walking,... More

This has very good turkish food. I enjoy coming here for its enviornment and good food. I usually get the beef stew- its my favorite. The service isnt the greatest though. Our waitress had no idea what was on the menu or what we were asking for, and they dont have baklava either.

Food is pretty good but the atmosphere is loud with periodic comedy shows. Tables outside are in the sand which is a nuisance.

Went here in middle of the day, so less atmosphere than I would have liked, but the food was really good. Meze plate and kebab fantastic. Also had shisha and they just keep giving you more until you've had enough - good times.

Food was OK but unspectacular. Good parking. Ambience nothing to write home about.

If you go here on a Monday, the main chef is off and you'll get something that seems to have been based on the children's game of telephone (you know, the one where the message at the end is far different from the one at the beginning after it's been heard and re-told 20 times?). A friend was served the... More

The food is not spectacular, two of the people I ate with didn't even finish their meals because they were awful. The hookah is fun (though expensive), and it's a nice change of pace from many of the restaurants in Kampala. Don't believe any of their advertisements for drink specials, ladies' nights, etc. I had to fight with them and... More

In August 2011 once I was visiting Nakumatt Kampala, I asked someone for some good restaurant. I was suggested to go to Centenary Park, it was just at a few minutes walk from there. Once I reached there I saw many nice restaurants, all very close by each other. I opted to have food in this restaurant, and I loved... More

This place is located in Centenary park where there are about a dozen restaurants. This is the best I've been to. The service is great. Very friendly staff, quick service and very tasty food. The coffee is great (what else did you expect from a Turkish place) and prices are very reasonable. There are several area's to this place including... More
