We were hosted at this place by our travel/trek agent. The approach road to the mansion was not the best, but once the car pulled up to the parking lot, I could see it was a large building - probably used by one the Royals as a house. The walls are really thick and it is a well-made, though a... More

We went to this place to try a traditional Nepali meal and learn a little about the culture and because it was highlighted in Lonely Planet. The building was beautiful and the cultural show was nice, but the food was not great. The food was under-seasoned - perhaps trying to target westerners a little too much. The biggest letdown was... So we decided to hike from the airport to our hotel, a pretty cool experience btw, when the growlies set in. I used Trip Advisor to find a place for a late lunch that was along our route and found Bhojan Griha. When we got there it looked closed but a random guy directed us through a door and up... More

Very friendly staff , ever so beautiful place and yummy food - I was a very happy customer and strong recommendation to everyone who'd like to try traditional Newari food upon their stay in Katmandu. The building is quite historic because it's a 150 year old 'haveli' converted to a restaurant now.

This place can be a bit hard to find. We went there for lunch, but according to the staff the experience is even better in the evening when there is a cultural performance. The menu is set and price is USD 20. You get lots of food, small portions that make you taste many dishes. Beautiful place. Enjoyed it very... More

Big place. Here you can find some traditional plates from Nepal, while sitting on tradtional cushions, here we enjoyed a seeing and listening to traditional Napli folk music. Loved the wood carvings and the traditional design of the place

A great restaurant in a beautifully restored building. The set menu is excellent and the evening entertainment is tastefully done and there enough breaks for you to enjoy your meal without feeling like you are meant to be watching all the time. This won't be the cheapest meal you will have in Nepal, but certainly will be one of the... More

A nice experience of Newari & Nepali food and culture if you are in Kathmandu. A bit expensive but, worth the money spent.

Beautiful old renovated building; Traditional Nepali Menu; (heaps of food and the best Momo I've had so far); Music and Dancing. Seating is on the floor, but still quite comfortable. Set menu was tasty, drinks were cold and enjoyable. Every so often the musicians would come back in, announce themselves, play for a few minutes and then head back out.... More

A visit is a must to taste Authentic Nepali food and also to enjoy the locals singing and dancing to Nepalese music. Unless you enjoy Nepalese food, you might find the food a little bland for your taste.
