My husband and I were only in Nepal for a long weekend so the 12 course menu at Krishnarpan was an excellent choice to try a wide variety of local food. We booked in advance by email and chose from a selection of set menus. From start to finish the service was excellent. Loved the rituals that were associated with... More

I went alone one night, having reserved with the maximum 22 courses in advance. It was a totally amazing experience, with a true abundance of food types, including meats of chicken, mutton, buffalo, duck, wild boar and quail - plus variations on dahl, bhat as well as fish and many exquisite tarkari's. Juicy fish and crisp quail were my favorites.... More

This was my first dinner in Kathmandu. Arriving in the rain, taking our shoes off , the hand washing ritual, sitting on our softy cushions. An apron was tied around our back, The menu had our name and the date in the Nepali calendar. Sharing the food with Krishna, pouring rice wine as they do tea in the Middle East.... More

The hotel is in Dwarika Hotels and is one of the best Nepali restaurant in my opinion. It needs reservation in advance and has a set Nepali menu, so make sure you ask about the menu in advance if you are a picky eater. The menu is customized with your name on it and you depart with a lovely Nepalese... More

Krishnarpan Restaurant is located within Hotel Dwarika and serves wonderful Newari (cuisine of the indigenous people of the Kathmandu valley) as well as Nepal dishes. Table setting is fairly low; with some cushions for your back. We had the 6 course dinner menu - portions are generally small - with the exception of the 5th dish which is thaali meal... More

This is a must do dinner for all foodies and history and culture lovers. The menu is set, so you'll have to book ahead; allergies were easily catered for. Wear something that is loose: you'll be sitting on a low bench and you'll need the expanding space! It was special to get a personalised menu, a lovely keepsake. The dinner... More

Krishnarpan serves traditional Newari food from the Kathmandu valley with a set menu of 6, 16 or 19 courses. Once you decide on the menu, the menu is customised for each individuals dietary needs. The atmosphere is of old Nepal, surrounded outside by beautiful "rescued" windows and artefacts. Krishnarpan is in the UNESCO heritage-listed hotel, Dwarikas. An oasis from the... More

I found the 6 course meal to be an enjoyable experience (~5500 rupees). The hotel is worth a visit just to see the breathtaking grounds and antiques the hotel holds. Overall, the meal was good, but not substantially better than normal Nepali food you would get from a local restaurant. You are paying a premium for the service, atmosphere, and... More

We had the set 6 courses meal dinner. We took off our shoes, washed our hands, and were led into the beautiful dining area. They asked us our names then each received a gorgeous personalised menu with our names. Food was very tasty but wish there was a 4 courses option.
