A small coffee shop in Thamel, Kathmandu with some great strong freshly brewed coffee. For those who get affected by caffeine, please ensure that you drink this before 12 noon.

An unpretentious place to have an early morning cup of coffee and read a newspaper (several local papers in English and Nepali everyday made available to customers). I've come back year after year just for that. Low key. Decent cup of coffee which is not overpriced. Americano is $0.85. Many locals, alot of guides seem to turn up here in... More

I have visited Chikusa Cafe multiple times, and no other place in the city makes me feel at home. The staff - Suresh and Rupesh - are very hospitable and cheerful. The space is small, but cozy and intimate. Their omlettes are really good, and the entire breakfast menu is attractive. The annex space, further inside, is also available. The... More

One of the first local Cafe I tried in Thamel. The coffee is definitely better than your common illy/ nest Cafe cups. Though it does take a while to brew. We only had coffee and it was quite a humming and busy place. You can also have breakfast there. Well worth a visit!

When you walk in it loos so small but they have extended the place to out the back. I first found this place in 1999 it's still going but slightly differently no longest it there a Japanese person running it. But saying that it's still a nice place to stop off and have a coffee.

It's nothing fancy, but it's authentic. I enjoy coming here for breakfast and pretend I'm a local :D Rather unsuccessful though ;) Anyway, Chikusa is a nice local coffee place that serves reasonably good breakfast. I hang around reading the morning papers, then move on to reading my book while people-watching. I prefer the seats in first room facing the... More

U must try out the awesome coffee with the banana pancake. The 2 staff there are very helpful, you can ask them for directions, where to buy good tea, u can charge your handphone and read the daily paper.
