It was Valentine's Day set menu. The ambience is amazing within the old charm of the Mandarin Oriental. It is very expensive and try tries very har. i think its overpriced as the food was not mind blowing just solid.

For such money this place is super expensive. Understandable that this is the Mandarin Oriental Hotel however for this price we were expecting to get something amazing. Service is also average however we did expect the staff to be more friendly.

Of course the Mandarin Oriental is one of the best hotels in the world, so spending $140 for two at lunch should be understood. This restaurant does not disappoint! Arrive hungry and enjoy fine-dining at it's best. Our lunch--with a great view of the river--was one of the culinary highlights of Bangkok.

It is a certain thing that you can get fine service and fine seafood at the Lord Jim. Staffs are friendly and foods are well prepared. Never disappointed when the place is not fully booked.

Mandarin Oriental Bangkok has never let down in term of service for any venue within its premises. This time we attended dinner by The Ministry of Crab from Sri Lanka which is led by chef Dharshan Munidasa. Surely nice but not great for this #29 Asia's 50 Best Restaurants (still don't know how this rank really picks their choice). As... More

We had lunch in Lord Jim. Not the first time - and definitely not the last one. As always everything was just perfect: service, food selection and food quality. Highly recommended. Be aware Lord Jim restaurant will undergo renovation soon ( as far as I know mid March to mid December ).

We had booked at Lord Jim's on the last day of our trip in bangkok....this is after visiting some of the best buffet offerings in the city and other high end restaurants. Our expectations were high and having seen that it was the no 1 slot at tripadvisor only confirmed our choice. However, whilst the offering was very similar to... More

We spent a dinner there and really enjoyed it. Staff was good, friendlly and attentive. We ordered oyster, fish and seafood grill. Food was great, tasted good and also looked good. The atmosphere was ok with nice view but not so private. Love to go there again.

The place itself was absolutely lovely. Very tranquil and upmarket. Service: superb. Couldn't fault it. In fact, wonderful. Product: amazing food if not slightly limited. But seriously good food. Bottomless drink option amazing, that was a lunch option. Verdict: defo come again. Although I might try Sofitel next x

Staying in Silom

Neighbourhood Profile
Silom
Despite the lack of any major tourist attractions, this lively neighborhood is a favorite of many. Whether it's the (somewhat naughty) nightlife of Soi Patpong, the various handicraft night markets or the plethora of dining options that tickle your fancy, a night out in Silom is a must on every itinerary. It's worth a stop during daytime, too: join office workers on a quest to tasty street food during lunch and shop at Silom Complex for a great mix of Thai and international stores. After a day of strolling around the congested sidewalks, a visit to Silom's Lumphini Park, Bangkok's answer to NYC's Central Park, is a welcome change of scenery.
