On a 3 month trip of Asia,I had a craving for tandoori chicken. We were going to be in Mumbai in 3 weeks, but thinking about our upcoming trip made the craving even more intense. I read about Himali Cha Cha and was going to be there at lunch time. We ordered a whole tandoori chicken ( I'm not good... More

When we entered their was a wired smell and the place was empty. Waited at the door to be seated but no one came so sat down. Waited some more and finally the waiter came. I said hello but he just handed us the menu without a word smile or eye contact. He then walked off. The menu had the... More

I turned up just as the restaurant was opening, and it was understandably empty. So I can't say anything about the atmosphere, but the setting is pleasant, with windows looking out onto a lush garden. It's set back a little way from the road, but easy to find, thanks to a large sign on the street. I had masala chicken... More

Costly but tasty. I'd give it 4-stars if the price were about 20% cheaper on the ginger curry dishes. I also contest this is one of the better Indian restaurants in its price range in Bangkok.

Not only every curry but also nans are so tasty. Especially curry with shrimp and garlic nan. The price is so reasonable, actually it's kind of cheap though. And they have good service attitude. If you love curry and nan, don't miss it.

Last night in Bangkok after three weeks in Thailand. Managed to get back to Himali Cha Cha (the one in Soi 47 Charoen Krung), the original. Just as good as it always was. Great food, service. Will continue the tradition, started in 1984, and visit every time I'm in Bangkok for a great change to Thai food.

Staying in Silom

Neighbourhood Profile
Despite the lack of any major tourist attractions, this lively neighborhood is a favorite of many. Whether it's the (somewhat naughty) nightlife of Soi Patpong, the various handicraft night markets or the plethora of dining options that tickle your fancy, a night out in Silom is a must on every itinerary. It's worth a stop during daytime, too: join office workers on a quest to tasty street food during lunch and shop at Silom Complex for a great mix of Thai and international stores. After a day of strolling around the congested sidewalks, a visit to Silom's Lumphini Park, Bangkok's answer to NYC's Central Park, is a welcome change of scenery.
