I had a text message from a friend 'meet me at Ricky's, near the Phra Aphit ferry terminal, 12.30'. It transpires there are two Ricky's in Bangkok, each only 500m from my hotel but in roughly opposite directions. It wasn't difficult to locate the one he was talking about (I use a very useful App - Maps.me). It took about... More

We come here for breakfast every time we visit Bangkok ....... we have been visiting at least once a year for the last 10 years!!!!! We settled on our favourite breakfast being muesli, fruit and yoghurt with a mango shake about 8 years ago and have not looked back, it is so tasty and light, a great way to start... More

Been here a couple times. The service is always a bit slow but the food is delicious! And it's super cheap!! Only suggestion is to have wifi - coffee shop with no wifi?? Would highly recommend as long as you're not in a huge hurry :)

I've been stopping at Ricky's every morning now for about a month. He serves the best espresso drinks I've had yet in Thailand. The espresso macchiato is completely authentic; the cappuccino even convinced my non-coffee-drinking wife to switch from Mountain Dew to Ricky's. The menu is crazy-ecelectic, but surprisingly pretty good. The sandwiches are a bit small on bread (if... More

Fantastic Coffee, great food - but most impressive is the full english breakfast - proper sausages not hotdogs, and large portions! If in the area a must!

I don't usually order coffee out because it's so hit or miss.... But this place was near my guesthouse and I was feeling like a coffee after about 3 weeks without the stuff. Oh my goodness, good coffee! The staff is also very kind and attentive and the breakfast sandwiches are amazing. Ricky's..... Get some!

Thank Jess h

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
