Great japanese food from sushi to grilled. Their beef is amazing and the sushi and sashimi quality was outstanding. We had Japanese guests and they loved it so this is a strong testimony.

Swung by this joint when walking around Thonglor on a rainy Sunday, and my friend and I fancied Japanese food; this was literally the first place we came to. Ordered the largest mixed barbeque set which was not enough food for two, and had to order a second beef set also. The quality of the meat is very good, but... More

My friend from Japan recommended this restaurant. Her friend is a chef here. This is probably one of the best sushi restaurants I have ever been to. Each diner gets escorted to their own private tatami room. Don't worry there is normal leg room under the tables so it is quite comfortable. Quite delighted to see they had Fugu (puffer... More

I stayed in the vicinity of Thonglor 8 so i decided to give the food a try. The entrance had a very zen like appearance and when you walk in, the left leads to the sushi section via a paved stone walk way while the right leads to the yakiniku section. I was with my mom, hubby and two kids.... More

A colleague and I cam here for lunch this week. We started in Emporium, and found out that Fireplace is closed. We really wanted shabu shabu, so we ended up here. Thonglor 8 seems to have some of the best restaurants in this part of Bangkok. Other reviews rave about the sushi; I can't speak to the yakinuku or the... More

I've been visiting all of Bangkok's famous sushi bars for the past few years and can say that this place has literally the best "money : quality" ratio Take the seat by the counter, ask for chef's recommendation and you'll get excellent sushi at affordable price (compared to those hi-end sushi bars in bkk). The service is attentive and professional... More

I cant speak about the carnival yakiniku, that's actually a separate restaurant. The sushi at sushi-cyu is absolutely first rate. As good as any sushi in Tokyo. And, as expensive, as well, so be prepared for that. I used to live in Japan, so I have had sushi at the best places.... Sushi-cyu in bangkok ranks up there with top... More

Quality is not the problem but the place looks dark and not that clean. Good for casual lunch or dinner, don't expect anything more than this.

Staying in Sukhumvit

Neighbourhood Profile
Sukhumvit
With a mix of shopping malls, hip bars and food stalls lining both sides of Thailand’s longest road, you’ll rarely encounter a dull moment along Sukhumvit. While the main road itself doesn't offer a lot in terms of entertainment, it's the adjoining 'sois' (alleys) where the magic happens. Popular spots are soi 11 for a lively night out, soi 4 for naughty nightlife and soi 21 for world-class shopping at Terminal 21. It's hard to cover everything this area has to offer in on day, so be sure to take your time. Sukhumvit is heavily congested with traffic during day and night, so getting from A to B is most convenient using the BTS Skytrain right above it.
