Took the family here as heard it's the place to go. Was bloody awesome! Iconic tourist bar on the wharf. It was so relaxing and peaceful, could stay all day! For 370 baht for 3 sodas, beer and one potent gin and tonic, didn't think it was expensive at all for the views. Staff very friendly and service good. Was... More

Enjoy a drink and have some thai food whilst watching the Sunset. Green curry with chicken was really tasty as well as the fried rice with prawns. Get there early to catch a place... it's really busy.

A "Distressed Restaurant" on an Old Pier fronting the River next to the Shangri-La Hotel. Fun place for a Beer at Sunset. Difficult to get away from INCONSIDERATE SMOKERS. Go there in the Evening Before or After Dinner BUT NOT For Dinner. If you don't believe me and others about the food, and decide to eat there, DO NOT look... More

Right on the river, lovely place to relax and enjoy a beer. The place is rustic but this adds to the charm. Worth checking out.

This is a great hangout with views of the river, authentic Thai food, decent prices and a cool vibe. It's the kind of place you end up spending longer at than you planned! The drinks menu is very basic - two types of beer, coke sprite or water but with the river view who cares about that. The food is... More

On meeting friends uptown, they knew this place to go to. After a harrowing Tuk Tuk ride through the mad late night streets of Bangkok, one you should do just for the experience. We arrived at Jacks Bar, not the easiest place place to get to but well, well worth it. Sitting on Suan Plu Pier right on the Chao... More

Jacks bar is a cool place to go. We went there a couple of times and always had good food for an reasonable price. One day we were offered to take a seat on a platform on the river. We had an amazing we on the river during sunset! Quite romantic. Staff was friendly and did their best, though I... More

If you're staying at any of the hotels along the river this is a place you have to visit around sunset. Grab a beer and watch the boats go by in this cool little spot on the water.

Very comfy place to just relax and hang out. Great food and entertainment in form of overviewing the river. It also seems like they have a bar-dog which hang around, cute one. Jack, the owner of the bar treated me a a glass of rum just before I left, very friendly gesture.

Thank Marcus R

Staying in Silom

Neighbourhood Profile
Despite the lack of any major tourist attractions, this lively neighborhood is a favorite of many. Whether it's the (somewhat naughty) nightlife of Soi Patpong, the various handicraft night markets or the plethora of dining options that tickle your fancy, a night out in Silom is a must on every itinerary. It's worth a stop during daytime, too: join office workers on a quest to tasty street food during lunch and shop at Silom Complex for a great mix of Thai and international stores. After a day of strolling around the congested sidewalks, a visit to Silom's Lumphini Park, Bangkok's answer to NYC's Central Park, is a welcome change of scenery.
